Job Summary

Church & Dwight is seeking a Senior Brand Ecommerce Manager, to join our team. The Senior Brand Ecommerce Manager will demonstrate strategic, market activation, project prioritization and decision-making skills that play a key role in driving profitable growth and market share gains in the very competitive online space.

About the Role

Home Care is Church & Dwight’s largest SBU in terms of ecommerce sales, driven by the rapid and complex growth of the litter business and The SBM has the complex task of creating a roadmap for pureplay profitability including disruptive online innovation and formats, driving omnichannel growth, and managing the rapid online growth of pet specialty retailers including online market leader, Chewy. All of the above while still managing the standard responsibilities of an Ecommerce brand manager. Success in role will require a self-starter with not only experience driving significant growth but also ensure a sustainable profitable future and drive omnichannel strategy. The ideal candidate will develop an exceptional command of all aspects of their SBU’s ecommerce business.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid: This is a hybrid role based in Ewing, NJ or NYC and requires in- person attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays.

  

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Overall SBU Ecommerce Brand Strategy

· Leads development of ecommerce strategy: multi-year SBU growth targets, brand-specific roadmap, and business-driven tactical executions with key partners.

· Collaborates to ensure commercial organization alignment with broader brand strategies: national marketing, eRetail activation strategy, and digital shelf best practices (i.e. A+ Page, images/video, product name, SEO, mobile optimized). Leads across departments and agencies to define and build a seamless data-driven path to purchase. Accountable for creative team briefings and content approvals.

· Identifies channel/customer-specific product assortment and act on priorities via investment mix (trade, CP, shopper and media). Leverages data to measure investment returns and track market performance.

· Leads surfacing and implementation of channel/customer-specific requirements including profitability, pricing, packaging, planning, and availability via multi-factor analysis to achieve business and profitability goals. Actively responds by managing menu placement, taxonomy, share of search and digital shelf.

· Oversees promotion and campaign management in coordination with agency support and participates in the planning of retailer marketing and media programs through collaboration with cross-functional team. Identifies test and learn beta programs (such as video in search, Amazon post).

· Coordinates product launches online with Global New Products and Brand marketing. Brings forward new product opportunities and works with cross-functional team to quickly bring to market while supporting competitive and internal benchmarking to manage existing items, including reviews and content. Regularly update FAQs/content in response, reporting on optimization opportunities back to brand team.

Pureplay Profitability Management

· Litter is a large and critical business where ensuring long term profitability is critical and meaningful to CHD and will be a key workstream for this individual

· In partnership with Director, ecommerce profitability work to drive a robust multi year strategy to improve profitability in ecommerce including packaging innovation for fine reduction, ecommerce exclusive innovation, and portfolio mix management. This workstream will be critical across litter, but also for baking soda & household cleaners.

Pet retail strategy leadership

· Pet products have rapidly grown online and this role has the unique responsibility of managing our online business and strategy among pet specialty retailers such as Chewy, Petco, & Petsmart.

Omnichannel Strategy & Leadership

· Cat Litter is a large category which will need disproportionate ecommerce leadership in retailer discussions given its critical importance in store to many retailers and is often where funding requests and strategy are most expected.

· In partnership with omnichannel team, this person will oversee the cat litter digital strategy across key customers while also partnering with the digital strategy team for appropriate activations.

Oversight of Baking Soda & Cleaners Business

· While this person will predominantly focus on litter, they will also be responsible for managing the ecommerce business of baking soda and household cleaners in partnership

with the brand team. Similar to litter, ecommerce specific innovation and profitability are critical to both categories.

Skills and Competencies

· Motivated self-starter with a desire to lead a step change in brand sales growth online.

· Comfortable handling the details as well as thinking about the big picture.

· Works autonomously with internal and external teams/agencies.

· Demonstrated skills in managing complex processes across stakeholders, using strong interpersonal skills and a heightened level of communication.

· Exceptional ability to organize and visualize data to highlight actionable insights via engaging, persuasive storytelling.

· Significant passion and aptitude for metrics and quantitative analysis, and ability to turn analysis into action and financial results.

· Detail-oriented with strong project management skills and experience managing a complex supply chain and product portfolio

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree Required, MBA Preferred

· Must have a minimum 7 years of ecommerce and/or brand marketing experience

· Proven history of driving sales growth

· Experience establishing marketing or ecommerce process across multiple departments and agencies, change management experience preferred

· Exceptional skills and demonstrated capability in creating ecommerce reporting systems and strategies with diverse datasets

· Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Syndicated Data, Trade Promotion Management

· Familiarity with key retailer e-commerce operations, platforms, promotional/media vehicles, etc. preferred

· Pet category experience a plus

Compensation and Benefits   

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $130,200-$185,400. This position is also eligible for a bonus.

U.S. employees are entitled to paid holidays, floating holidays, and vacation days starting in their first year of employment depending on hire date. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay parity.  Compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
