From the employer
Job Description:
The Institutional Product Marketing Director owns product marketing for Cboe's institutional businesses, with Derivatives and Data Vantage as primary areas of ownership and Equities and FX as secondary areas of support. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a pure management seat. We're looking for someone who can set strategy and lead a team of product marketers, while also being one of the team's strongest individual producers: a natural storyteller who can turn complex, technical products into clear, compelling narratives, and who writes flagship content, shapes launch messaging, and builds the sales tools the program runs on. A core part of this role is building the global product marketing framework: the messaging, core content, templates, and product marketing kit that regional marketing leads in the EU and APAC localize and deploy in their markets. The Director owns that global-to-local model end to end, setting the standard centrally and equipping regional teams to execute against it, so positioning stays consistent for each audience everywhere Cboe operates.
Key Responsibilities
Positioning & Go-to-Market Strategy
- Own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy across Derivatives, Data Vantage, Equities, and FX, tailored to how each institutional audience buys and adopts.
- Partner with sales and product managers to translate commercial plans and roadmap into market-ready, audience-specific positioning, and own the integrated product launch roadmap — coordinating timing with, and feeding narrative into, the institutional events calendar and flagship content vehicles owned by Marketing Programs.
- Set the messaging framework and product marketing kit the regional marketing leads work from, keeping positioning consistent for each audience across the EU and APAC.
Content, Storytelling & Launch Execution
- Act as the team's lead storyteller, translating complex products into clear, compelling narratives for institutional audiences, and write flagship content directly, including product narratives, launch messaging, and high visibility client and sales materials.
- Develop launch plans across the businesses, from positioning and naming through campaign execution and sales rollout, and coordinate with center of excellence (COE) teams such as web, PR, and paid and advertising to bring each launch to market.
- Use AI tools to speed up content development, market and competitive research, and campaign production, and build that fluency across the team.
Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead, develop, and direct a team of product marketers.
- Own the day to day marketing relationships with product and sales leaders across every business.
Performance, Reporting & Investment
- Allocate the program budget across products, within the investment plan set by the Head.
- Build and maintain the reporting frameworks, tracking KPIs such as pipeline contribution, product adoption, campaign and launch performance.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of B2B product marketing experience, with a strong preference for financial services or capital markets.
- A strong writer and content creator who can produce institutional-grade positioning, launch messaging, and sales materials directly, not just oversee them.
- Demonstrated ownership of product positioning, messaging, and launch strategy across a portfolio of products or businesses.
- Comfort operating as a player-coach, balancing strategy and team leadership with hands-on execution.
- People leadership experience, including leading and developing marketers.
- Proven cross-functional partnership with product management and sales leaders.
- Experience marketing complex products to institutional or sophisticated B2B audiences.
- Data-driven approach with comfort owning competitive intelligence, win/loss analysis, and program reporting.
- Comfort operating in a regulated environment with compliance and legal review.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of derivatives, options, market data products, or FX.
- A portfolio of positioning, messaging, or launch content samples.
- Experience building scalable, global-to-local product marketing frameworks and equipping regional or field teams to localize and execute.
- Product launch and sales enablement experience, including training sales teams on new positioning.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, product marketing and sales enablement tools (e.g., Highspot, Seismic), and analytics tools.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
