Who this fits
This senior, hands-on role suits someone who can set direction, deliver marketing work personally and mentor two specialists. You’ll report to the President and work with Sales, Product and Customer Experience. The job is remote in Canada and may involve occasional travel within Canada or elsewhere in North America.
From the employer
Who we are
BrightOrder builds fleet maintenance and management software and telematics. For 30+ years we've helped fleets and repair shops keep vehicles on the road and margins intact. We're a remote Canadian company where marketing sits close to revenue and your work is visible to everyone, including the President.
The role
You'll own BrightOrder's marketing plan and do a good share of the work yourself. This is a hands-on leading role, not a management seat. You set direction, build campaigns, write when it matters, read the data, and adjust. You'll also mentor two specialists and keep the team's priorities clear and moving with direct access to leadership and real influence over how marketing works here.
How the team works
You lead and mentor two specialists: one on digital and growth marketing, one on market research. We use AI tools daily and expect you to push that further. You work directly with the President and closely with Sales, Product and Customer Experience.
Stack: HubSpot, Webflow, GA4, LinkedIn and Google Ads.
What you'll own
- A practical, integrated marketing plan with clear priorities, owners and timelines
- Multi-channel campaigns that generate qualified opportunities for Sales
- Pipeline attribution and reporting in HubSpot that connects marketing to revenue
- Brand and messaging consistency across web, email, social and collateral
- Website performance: organic visibility, conversion, landing pages
- Sales enablement: case studies, presentations, follow-up programs
- Development of two specialists through regular feedback and hands-on collaboration
Requirements
What you bring
- 7+ years of broad B2B marketing experience in software or technology, most of it hands-on
- Extensive use of AI platforms and AI applications to drive efficiencies and reduce operating costs
- A record of building demand-generation programs and using data to improve them
- Strong writing and editing; you can turn a complex product into a clear message
- Working depth in HubSpot or a comparable CRM, GA4, SEO and email marketing
- Experience mentoring or leading others while carrying your own workload
- Comfort moving between strategy and execution in a remote, fast-moving team
- Proven track record in high-growth startup or agile small-business environments
Preferred experience
- Experience in fleet technology, transportation, automotive, logistics or a related industry.
- Experience marketing to commercial fleet, dealership or other specialized B2B audiences.
- Experience supporting trade shows, industry events and sales enablement initiatives.
What success looks like
- BrightOrder has a clear, coordinated marketing plan with priorities, ownership, timelines and measurable outcomes.
- Marketing programs consistently contribute qualified opportunities and provide Sales with useful, relevant support.
- Brand messaging and content are stronger, more consistent and better aligned with target audiences.
- The Marketing Specialists receive practical mentorship, clearer priorities and the support needed to grow and deliver strong work.
- Marketing decisions are increasingly informed by reliable performance data, market insight and customer needs.
How you will work
You will report directly to the President and work closely with colleagues across the organization. This role requires someone who can set direction, roll up their sleeves and execute, and help others succeed. Occasional business travel within Canada or to other North American locations may be required for company meetings, customer visits, trade shows or industry events.
Nice to Have
- Bilingual in English and French.
- A degree in Marketing, Business, or Communications is an asset - but demonstrated results and hands-on experience will always speak louder.
- Trade show and industry event experience
- Experience marketing complex B2B SaaS platforms with long sales cycles.
- Familiarity with fleet management, telematics, logistics technology or automotive industry.
