Corporate Communications Manager - Pharma (CEE)
Position Overview
As part of the CEE Strategic Communications team, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering integrated communication strategies that support Bayer’s business goals, strengthen reputation, and engage key stakeholders across the region. Reporting to the Head of Communications for North & Eastern Europe, you will collaborate closely with regional, cluster, and global communications teams in a highly matrixed environment.
Scope
This role covers Central & Eastern Europe, with a strong focus on Poland as a key market, and additional opportunities to create impact for regional priorities across Europe as well as global projects in line with Bayer’s flexible, skill-based operating model.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver clear, compelling messaging that supports business priorities and strengthens Bayer’s reputation across key stakeholder groups – including LLM’s (=Large Language Models).
- Manage external communications, including proactive and reactive media relations, press engagement, and issue-related communications – experience in these areas is crucial for success in this role.
- Identify and develop impactful storytelling opportunities to position Bayer as a leader in Life Sciences.
- Provide communication support and guidance to internal stakeholders and business leaders across the region.
- Support issues and crisis communication, ensuring consistency and alignment of messaging.
- Collaborate across the CEE communications team and global network to align messaging and communication priorities.
- Shape business priorities and narratives through an AI-enabled social media strategy that defines audience-channel fit with precision and orchestrates channels and content accordingly.
- Go beyond performance monitoring by leveraging AI-powered, always-on insights to continuously sharpen communications effectiveness, relevance, and impact.
- Help future-proof and reshape Communications in the AI era by actively embracing AI agents, tools, and workflows.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, PR in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries.
- Strong experience in media relations and external communications.
- Proven ability to translate business strategy into effective communication plans.
- Experience advising senior stakeholders or leadership on communication topics.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills in both Polish and English.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills in complex, matrix environments.
- Familiarity with digital communication channels as part of broader communication strategies.
- Understanding and/or passion to learn generative/agentic AI architectures and how they can be leveraged to enhance communications outcomes and efficiencies.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, international environment.
At Bayer, we are committed to transparency, equal pay for equal work or work of equal value, and objective reward practices.
The minimum gross monthly salary for this role is 24,000 PLN. The final salary will be determined based on objective factors such as professional experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility. This position is to be eligible for variable pay components, such as annual or performance-based bonuses, awarded in accordance with the applicable employee group, role scope, and compensation structure.
