We are recruiting for a Business Development Director to join our Business Development Institutional team in Amsterdam, covering the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg) and Nordics (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) regions.

If you’re someone who is entrepreneurial and enjoys building relationships with investors, this is a great opportunity to join a high-performing 2-person Benelux and Nordics Institutional team. Reporting into our Head of Benelux and Nordics Business Development you will help drive the roll-out of the commercial plan towards the top asset owners in our five primary target markets (the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland).

Investment expertise means nothing if clients don’t experience it. Our business development and client experience teams build trusted relationships across regions, while our marketing, investment, and communications sustainability teams showcase what sets us apart – powering our growth.

A bit about the role:

You will execute our EMEA Institutional Sales strategy and help develop an actionable regional sales strategy, contributing directly to increased assets under management and net revenue.

  • Implement the business development plan for the region, leading to growth of the assets under management and net new revenues – working closely with the Head of Benelux and Nordics to execute on product and market opportunities.

  • Represent client perspectives internally to enhance product development, while externally positioning Aviva Investors as a thought leader through industry engagement, marketing, and events.

  • Maintain and enhance existing client relationships - leveraging the CRM system and internal resources to optimise client experiences.

  • Support and lead client and prospect pitches and representation of Aviva Investors at conferences and local industry events.

  • Ensure highly collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders and sales colleagues, locally and globally.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Deep understanding of institutional investor needs across pensions, insurance companies, and other institutional client segments, with expertise spanning investment operational and regulatory considerations.

  • Proven sales experience across both private and public markets

  • Strong knowledge of sustainable and impact investing, with the ability to align investment solutions to evolving client objectives.

  • Entrepreneurial and results-driven mindset, with a track record of building commercial relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering revenue outcomes.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to create bespoke solutions, navigate complex transactions, and collaborate effectively across internal and external partners; CFA or equivalent qualification preferred.
