Your Role in Our Story:
As a Renewable Energy Market Analyst, you will:
- Help ACT stay ahead of regulatory developments across U.S., Canadian, and international energy markets
- Translate policy into actionable insights that drive product innovation and commercial strategy
- Enable our teams and clients to navigate complex compliance landscapes with confidence
- Monitor and analyze renewable energy market policies and regulations
- Translate regulation into actionable insight for commercial teams
- Drive product innovation; identify opportunities for new products and services based and drive their development from concept to launch
- Support go-to-market readiness; work closely with commercial, legal, and operations teams to ensure products are compliant, relevant, and ready for market
- Shape ACT’s voice in the market; contribute to advocacy efforts, position papers, and external communications to strengthen ACT’s presence in policy discussions
- Engage with industry stakeholders; represent ACT at conferences, workshops, and with regulatory bodies to stay connected and influence market developments
Your Expertise:
- 3–6 years of experience in renewable energy, commodity or energy market analysis, trading, research, consulting, policy, regulation, or a related field
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with demonstrated ability to analyze market fundamentals, including supply, demand, market structure, price drivers, and the impact of regulatory or policy changes
- Strong problem-solving skills; ability to structure ambiguous market questions, identify the information and analysis required, build ETL pipelines, and develop a point of view from incomplete or imperfect data
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory and policy frameworks and translate changes into market, pricing, and commercial implications
- Working knowledge of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) markets is required; knowledge of U.S. electricity markets and power-market fundamentals is preferred
- Understanding of corporate sustainability, compliance and voluntary regulation & frameworks, such as state renewable portfolio standards (RPS), Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP), Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), RE100, Green-e
- Interest in applying analytical approaches across new markets, geographies, and products. Exposure to other environmental markets, such as biofuels, carbon credits, sustainable aviation fuel, tax credits, etc., is an advantage
- A degree in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, Engineering, Public Policy, or Environmental Science
Please note: this role is 100% in-office in New York City
The base pay range for this position is $130,000-$160,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The base pay is just one component of the total competitive compensation package for employees.
