About this role:

This role drives external visibility for Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) through strategic media relations, executive positioning, and measurable coverage outcomes.  The individual contributor will lead targeted media engagement, conference strategy, and awards programs to enhance CIB’s reputation and thought leadership. 

This position is available in New York, NY and offers a hybrid work schedule.  The Wells Fargo job profile is Lead Communications Consultant.


In this role, you will:

  • Support media relations and broader external communications strategy and execution for CIB’s Banking division (corporate banking, investment banking, M&A, equity capital markets, investment grade debt capital markets, and leveraged finance)

  • Identify timely, insight-driven media and external communications opportunities aligned to strategy

  • Advise senior leaders on media engagement and positioning

  • Build and manage strategic media relationships across top-tier financial outlets

  • Develop briefing materials for interviews, speaking engagements, and external visibility opportunities

  • Media and speaker train senior leaders and prepare them for interviews

  • Produce weekly media reports and deliver clear outcomes, ideas and insights to senior leadership

  • Conduct research to support executives’ internal and external speaking engagements 

  • Identify and secure speaking opportunities at key industry conferences

  • Manage media-driven award submissions and related programs, coordinating with business partners

  • Partner with marketing to develop LinkedIn content for CIB and senior leaders


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Public Relations, Media Relations or Corporate Communications experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • Experience developing proactive media strategies for investment banking, asset management, private equity, and B2B financial services clients


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience identifying news trends and developing media pitches aligned to business strategy

  • Experience researching conferences and securing executive speaking opportunities

  • Experience drafting award nominations and coordinating large-scale awards programs

  • Experience writing messages, talking points, and speeches for business leaders


Office Location & Pay Range:

  • 150 East 42nd Street - New York, NY ($120,000 to $196,000)
