What you'll do
- Turn stakeholder needs for resilient PNT into system architectures, then maintain the related design and interface records
- Build simulations to assess how PNT solutions perform and withstand challenging conditions
- Answer customer and partner questions about timing products, including clocks and time servers, and provide training
- Integrate and support PNT solutions for trials, demonstrations and trade shows, including clock disciplining and holdover approaches
- Help shape assured PNT approaches for GNSS-degraded or contested operations
What you bring
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, such as aerospace, electrical or another listed discipline
- Practical systems engineering background spanning requirements, architecture, integration, verification and validation
- Knowledge of GNSS and timing systems, plus experience with MATLAB and Simulink
- Programming ability in Python or C/C++, with a grounding in embedded software

Duties & Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will be responsible for both system architecture and PNT engineering:
Systems Engineering & Architecture
• Gather, analyse and formalise internal and external stakeholders' needs relating to resilient PNT systems.
• Define end-to-end PNT system architectures.
• Develop and maintain PNT architecture, design, and interface documentation and interface control documentation.
• Develop simulation environments to characterize PNT solution performance and robustness.
PNT Engineering
• Knowledge on Timing product lines (clocks, time servers), address questions and provide training to customers and industry partners.
• Design, integrate and support PNT solutions for trials, demonstrations and trade shows, clock disciplining, and holdover strategies.
• Contribute to assured PNT strategies for operation in GNSS degraded or contested environments.
WHAT YOU BRING
To be successful in this role you will bring:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or related discipline).
• Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, including requirements management, system architecture, integration, and verification and validation.
• Systems engineering and product development life cycle.
• Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS): GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, etc.
• Timing systems and clock management.
• MATLAB and Simulink.
• Python and/or C/C++.
• Embedded software fundamentals.
• interest in advanced defence technologies

Whilst it's not necessary to deliver within the role it would be desirable if you were able to support alternative and complementary PNT techniques, including inertial-only navigation, terrain aiding, celestial navigation, and signals of opportunity.
