Who this fits

This suits a self-starting sales professional who enjoys autonomy, new-business hunting, consultative selling, and account ownership. You will work across a UK territory and present both remotely and on-site. The role covers SaaS, EPoS hardware, card payments, and professional services, with experience in retail, charity retail, or visitor attractions as a useful advantage.

From the employer

Cybertill is Europe's leading cloud-based retail management platform, trusted by over 700 retail, charity, and visitor attraction organisations across more than 7,500 locations worldwide. Since pioneering cloud EPoS in 2001, we've been giving retailers a real-time, single view of stock, sales, and customers across every channel — in-store, online, and everywhere in between.

We're growing, and we're looking for a Business Development Manager with the credibility, commercial instinct, and drive to win new business at the highest level.

The Role

This is a genuine new-business role for an experienced, high-performing sales professional. As Business Development Manager, you'll own new customer acquisition across your UK territory — identifying, engaging, and converting qualified opportunities into signed, revenue-generating partnerships.

You'll manage the full sales cycle: qualifying opportunities, running compelling product demonstrations on-site and remote, building tailored proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and closing deals across our SaaS platform, EPoS hardware, card payment services, and professional services.

You'll be backed by a strong marketing and lead generation engine, an established CRM, and an experienced office team — but this is a role for someone who can also build their own pipeline through proactive prospecting and industry networking. Beyond new business, you'll manage a focused portfolio of key accounts, giving you a genuine, ongoing stake in customer success and a rich source of case studies and market insight.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

• Drive new logo sales within an agreed UK territory, delivering against clear revenue targets

• Build your own pipeline through industry events, networking, and proactive outreach

• Develop a genuine, consultative understanding of each prospect's requirements by engaging multiple stakeholders

• Deliver compelling, tailored software demonstrations, on-site and online, that speak directly to each audience

• Prepare accurate, polished proposals and pricing; negotiate confidently to protect and maximise margin

• Hand signed deals off cleanly to the project management team for a smooth implementation

Pipeline & CRM Management

• Keep a well-structured, up-to-date pipeline in the company CRM — opportunities, contacts, meeting notes, and next actions should always reflect reality

• Provide regular, accurate sales forecasts and insightful pipeline reports to the Head of Sales & Marketing

• Feed market intelligence back into the business: what prospects are asking for, and what competitors are doing

Account Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for a focused portfolio of existing accounts

• Run regular account review meetings to ensure ongoing satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities

• Earn commission on account sales as well as new business

Planning & Strategy

• Contribute to annual new-business planning and revenue budgeting

• Represent Cybertill's brand and values professionally at all times, in writing and in person

Key Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Essential

• A strong track record in B2B field sales, with clear evidence of independent prospecting and consistently hitting or exceeding target

• Experience selling technology solutions — SaaS, EPoS, or payments experience is a strong advantage

• A confident, credible communicator who is equally effective on the phone, in the boardroom, or presenting to a room of stakeholders

• A genuine self-starter who thrives on autonomy — target-driven, resilient, and comfortable owning the numbers

• A natural relationship builder — you listen well, read the room, and earn genuine trust with prospects and clients

• Strong commercial and numerical acumen; able to build and present pricing clearly and hold your ground on margin

• Organised and disciplined about CRM hygiene — you know a clean pipeline is a productive one

Desirable

• Experience or knowledge of the charity retail, general retail, or visitor attraction sectors

• Familiarity with retail technology, EPoS systems, or payment solutions

• Formal sales qualification (e.g. SPIN, Challenger, or similar)'
