From the employer
Social Media Strategist / Manager – Toyota Connected
Location: London / Hybrid
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 Month Initial Contract
Status: Outside IR35
We are looking for an experienced Social Media Strategist/Manager to lead the day-to-day strategy and operation of Toyota Connected Services' social media presence across Europe.
This is not simply a content-posting role. You will work closely with our GTM, Corporate Communications, Creative and Product teams to develop an existing Connected Services social account into a more purposeful, measurable customer engagement channel.
The account already has an established audience, existing content and some paid amplification. Our next step is to build on that foundation: strengthen the content strategy, understand what is already performing, create and adapt more relevant Connected Services content, grow engagement and establish meaningful KPIs that connect social activity with wider customer and business objectives.
What you'll do
Own and evolve the Connected Services social media strategy and content pillars.
Review the existing account, audience, historic content and paid activity to establish a clear performance baseline.
Work with GTM & Creative Team to align with the existing Toyota content calendar and identify opportunities for Connected Services content.
Develop and manage an editorial, balancing existing Toyota assets, adapted content and new social-first content.
Brief and collaborate with designers, copywriters, video/motion specialists and product experts to create effective social content.
Manage publishing, day-to-day channel activity and community engagement.
Identify opportunities for organic growth and collaboration with Toyota channels.
Define a practical KPI and measurement framework, moving beyond follower counts to understand reach, engagement, customer intent and, where possible, traffic into Toyota's digital ecosystem.
Use Brandwatch and platform analytics to analyse content, audience and campaign performance and turn the data into actionable recommendations.
Run regular performance reviews with GTM &cCreative Team and continuously optimise the content strategy.
Help shape the future paid social strategy, including audience segmentation and amplification of proven organic content.
What we're looking for
You are a hands-on social strategist who is equally comfortable setting the strategy and running the channel.
You should have strong experience in:
Managing established brand social accounts, ideally for a large consumer brand.
Instagram strategy, content planning and community management.
Organic and paid social, and understanding how the two should work together.
Social analytics, KPI definition and performance optimisation.
Brandwatch or comparable enterprise social media/listening platforms.
Turning performance data into clear business recommendations rather than vanity metrics.
Working within complex organisations with Brand, Corporate Comms, Marketing, Product and Legal stakeholders.
Briefing creative teams and recognising what makes effective social-first content.
Developing content for multiple European markets would be an advantage.
What success looks like
In the first six months, you will help us establish a clear baseline for the existing channel, build a consistent Connected Services content and publishing model, understand which content generates meaningful customer interest, and create the measurement framework that informs our next investment decision.
