Senior Event Marketing role at Tessl. Remote, United Kingdom · full-time.

Role brief

Growth Roles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • You’ll deliver US events from agreed plans through live execution, covering vendors, venues, budgets, and logistics
  • You’ll support developer chapters with practical guidance, priority-event coverage, and reusable resources
  • You’ll coordinate conferences, partner activations, field events, booths, dinners, and co-hosted programs
  • You’ll build promotion plans with Marketing, Community, and Sales, then flag weak registration trends early
  • You’ll keep event plans current, clarify ownership, and raise risks with proposed solutions across time zones

What you bring

  • You’ve run events, field marketing, or community programs from planning through delivery
  • You bring strong organisation, project management, and detail management across several events
  • You communicate proactively, make sound independent decisions, and manage vendors and event partners
  • You’re comfortable handling both senior-stakeholder planning and hands-on event problem solving
  • You can work effectively in a fast-moving company with an international distributed team

Who this fits

You’ll suit a hands-on operator role with substantial autonomy over Tessl’s US events program. The role is based in New York and requires regular travel across the US when your presence improves an event. You’ll work closely with UK-based Marketing and Community teams and collaborate with the wider global Events team on larger moments.

From the employer

Tessl is a fast-growing Series A startup based in London, founded by Guy Podjarny, who previously founded Snyk. We’ve raised more than $100 million from world-class investors, including Index Ventures, Accel, GV and Boldstart. In 2025, Tessl ranked #2 in Sifted’s B2B SaaS Rising 100 and #20 in its AI 100.

We’re building the context layer for AI coding agents and a platform for AI-native software development. As an early member of the team, you’ll help shape how we build and scale a company operating at the forefront of AI and software development.

About the Role

Events are one of the main ways Tessl builds real relationships with developers, customers, and partners. We're looking for a mid-level Events Marketing Specialist in New York to run our growing US events program on the ground: community meetups, developer chapters, conferences, partner and customer events, and larger Tessl-owned moments.

This is a hands-on execution role, with the opportunity to influence our events strategy as we grow our presence in the US. You'll take an agreed plan and make it real, and you'll be the person in the room making sure it runs. Most of the team sits outside the US, so you'll own your events with real autonomy, while sharing learnings and the impact of events on our growth goals with the wider team.

What You'll Do

Run US events end to end

  • Own operational delivery once strategy, objectives, and format are agreed: timelines, run-of-show, budgets, vendors, venues, catering, AV, signage, swag, and shipping

  • Be the primary owner on the ground, and troubleshoot calmly when something breaks an hour before doors open

  • Make Tessl events feel considered and consistent, not just staffed

Support the developer community program

  • Help chapter leaders across the US navigate venues, formats, logistics, swag, and promotion

  • Show up for priority community events and represent Tessl in the room

  • Build repeatable resources so local chapters get more self-sufficient over time

Coordinate conferences, partner and field events

  • Manage Tessl's presence at third-party conferences and developer events, and support commercial B2B activations with Sales and Partnerships: booths, sponsorships, side events, dinners, and co-hosted events

  • Keep both sides clear on responsibilities and deadlines on co-hosted events, and support larger programs like US roadshows alongside senior team members

Help fill the room

  • Work with Marketing, Community, and Sales so every event has a promotion plan and the assets to back it

  • Flag early when registrations track below target, and help identify the local communities and companies worth reaching (audience acquisition matters here, but this isn't primarily a demand generation role)

Keep everyone aligned

  • Maintain a single source of truth for each event so people know what's happening and what they own

  • Surface risks and blockers early with a proposed fix, and work smoothly across time zones with the UK-based Marketing and Community teams

What Good Looks Like

  • US events run smoothly without senior team members managing every operational detail

  • Plans are current and trusted, and everyone knows what's expected of them and when

  • Problems surface early, with solutions rather than surprises

  • Events feel polished and intentional on the ground

  • Our community program expands, with regular, well-attended meetups in key US cities

  • Chapter organisers feel well supported and grow more self-sufficient over time

  • Events contribute measurable value to our growth goals, generating sales opportunities and growing our community

  • Awareness of Tessl and AI Native Dev grows among developers and technical leaders in the US

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a strong operator and doer. You don't need to bring a new events strategy; you need to be very good at turning plans into reality.

Must have:

  • A few years running events, field marketing, or community events, from planning through to live delivery

  • Excellent organisation and project management, with real attention to detail across several events at once

  • A proactive communicator who keeps people informed rather than waiting to be asked

  • Good judgment and the confidence to make sensible calls independently

  • Experience managing external vendors, venues, and event partners

  • Happy to get hands-on: as comfortable talking through a plan with a senior stakeholder as tracking down a missing shipment before doors open

  • Comfortable in a fast-moving company and working with a distributed international team

Nice to have:

  • Experience with developer, technology, or startup community events

  • Experience supporting community chapters, ambassador programs, or meetup organisers

  • Both community-focused and commercial B2B/field event experience

  • Familiarity with the New York technology and developer scene

  • Some experience promoting events through community channels, email, social, or local outreach

Location and Travel

This role is based in New York, with regular travel across the US. You'll be Tessl's primary events operator on the ground, so you should be happy to travel when your presence will make an event materially better. We don't expect you at every Tessl event. You'll also work with the global Marketing and Events team at larger moments and team gatherings.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: We offer a competitive salary based on experience and skills, benchmarked against industry standards.
