About Tavus

Tavus is a research company focused on building AI systems that enable real-time, human-like interaction between people and machines. Its technology combines multimodal perception, generation, and low-latency infrastructure to support conversational video interfaces.

The company is backed by investors including Sequoia Capital, Y Combinator, and Scale Venture Partners.

The Role

Tavus is hiring a founding marketer to lead brand, product marketing, and category development.

This role sits outside a traditional marketing structure and reports directly to the founder. The successful candidate will own narrative development, content creation, and distribution end-to-end.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining core company and product narratives

  • Translating technical concepts into clear, externally facing messaging

  • Creating high-quality content across formats (written, video, demos, launches)

  • Supporting frequent product launches (weekly cadence) with structured messaging and assets

  • Owning and evolving brand positioning across website, product, and external channels

  • Driving distribution through organic, social, and PR channels

  • Contributing to category definition in an emerging market

Candidate Profile

The role is open to candidates across a range of seniority (typically 4+ years’ experience), with a focus on demonstrated execution capability.

Two common profiles are expected:

Narrative / Creative Focus

  • Strong ability to develop clear, compelling messaging from complex inputs

  • High attention to detail across writing, visual output, and overall brand

  • Experience producing product-facing content (e.g. demos, websites, launch materials)

Distribution / Growth Focus

  • Experience driving reach through content, launches, and media

  • Strong understanding of channels, timing, and amplification strategies

  • Track record of creating high-engagement or high-visibility moments

Candidates may lean toward one area but should be capable across both.

Requirements

  • Proven experience executing marketing work end-to-end (not solely strategy)

  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple workstreams

  • Strong product understanding and ability to map messaging to user journeys

  • High quality bar for output and attention to detail

  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent releases

Preferred Background

  • Experience in AI or developer-facing products

  • Exposure to early-stage or high-growth environments

  • Involvement in positioning or launching new product categories

  • Familiarity with companies such as ElevenLabs, Lovable, or similar

Scope and Impact

  • Full ownership of brand and narrative development

  • Direct collaboration with the founder

  • Responsibility for external perception of the company and its products

  • Opportunity to shape positioning in a new and evolving category
