Symmetrio is recruiting for a Marketing Coordinator on behalf of an innovative startup medical device company in the neurosurgery space experiencing exciting growth. The Marketing Coordinator will support a broad range of marketing activities including trade shows, event coordination, marketing communications, collateral development, project management, and day-to-day marketing operations. This role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, proactive, detail-oriented, and excited by the opportunity to wear multiple hats within a startup environment.
The position will work closely with leadership and internal stakeholders and requires someone who can manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong execution and organizational skills. This is an ON-SITE, in office position based in the San Diego Metro area. Compensation is $90,000 – $110,000 base salary, depending on experience. The role offers broad exposure across marketing functions and is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and helping build processes within an entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Event Coordination (40% of role)
- You will lead event coordination for 10+ small field events and large trade shows, including the planning, logistics, and promotional activities leading up to and following major events. Domestic travel to 1-3 annual trade shows for onsite support may be required.
- Field Support (20% of role)
- You will be the liaison between Creative, Marketing, and Sales, supporting a small team of field reps, ensuring they have the right Marketing collateral and Sales tools (e.g., flyers and sales decks) for customer meetings and small events.
- External Communications (40% of role)
- You will have a front-row seat in helping to create, implement, and manage external communications, including marketing communications campaigns, social media strategies, and digital marketing assets (i.e., website content). Previous copywriting and proofreading experience is desirable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a marketing, marcom, event coordination, or project management position
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Experience coordinating trade shows, meetings, or events strongly preferred
- General understanding of marketing fundamentals, marketing communications, and project coordination
- Ability to adapt quickly and manage multiple competing priorities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable working in an onsite, team-oriented environment
- Medical device or healthcare industry experience is preferred but not required
