From the employer

#WeRackTheWorld

The warehouse of the future is equipped with our iFollow autonomous robots instead of forklifts and our Atlas 2D pallet shuttles or eScala tote shuttles that allow for high-density storage (no wasted space!) and scalable solutions.

As part of Movu and over the span of more than 40 years, we’ve grown into a company with 10 manufacturing facilities, 19 commercial offices, and the know-how of around 2000 employees serving customers in 40 countries.

Early 2021, we opened our US Office and have already grown to 70 people. It's exciting times to be at Movu!

Location: Romeoville, IL or remote

The SALES ENGINEER is an integral person in helping our customer’s vision for an automated storage solution from Movu US come to life and win their business by developing competitive quotes. The Sales Engineer also supports the transition to project execution when the sale is won.

Solutions: Fully automated storage solutions including pallet shuttles (atlas) and ancillary systems such as conveyors and lifts.

Customers: End users are located throughout the United States and Canada. We work with many of the leading integrators as our Sales partners.

Typical project size: 1-30M

As our SALES ENGINEER, you…

  • determine the feasibility of any assigned projects and develop a proposal of efficient technical solutions based on the integration of Movu Robotics systems within our customers’ warehouses
  • work with our Sales team to determine customer requirements and design the technical as well as the commercial offer
  • develop racking configurations for the storage media
  • ensure proper throughput analysis of the selected solutions
  • participate in concept design in collaboration with our Sales team and sales partners (integrators)
  • supply project schedules and calculations
  • are responsible for design tools including testing and documentation
  • collaborate with team members from other departments and ensure that all assigned bids are reviewed for feasibility, pricing, timelines, liabilities, risks, and legal compliance
  • attend customer meetings in a supporting or presenting function
  • Multiple years of engineering experience in a Pre-Sales capacity in the material handling field
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering such as Automation, Robotics, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Understanding of how to optimize warehouse storage rack
  • Experience in Material Handling Automation equipment, preferably AMRs, pallet shuttles/conveyors, and/or AS/RS
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D or comparable software is required
  • Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or comparable software is a plus
  • Occasional travel to customer sites to research, collect and report information about the application (less than 10%)
  • If remote, occasional travel to our Romeoville, IL office (2-4 days at a time)
  • For onboarding and training, if remote, travel for training and onboarding to our Romeoville, IL office and regardless of your location, to our headquarters in Belgium (usually no more than 1 week at a time)
  • We work closely with our European colleagues. The morning hours are the most important so we can connect with them while our business hours overlap across time zones. If you love starting your workday mid-morning or later, you would hate it here. Most people start their workday at 8 am CST and some love to start even earlier so they can wrap up earlier at the end of the day.
