About Spotlight Media

Spotlight Media is a leading TikTok Shop Partner agency, scaling some of the most recognizable brands in the new age of social commerce. Unlike traditional agencies, we don’t believe in cookie-cutter playbooks- every strategy we craft is custom-built to unlock our clients’ full potential on TikTok Shop. As a TikTok Shop–only agency, our entire focus, from the initiatives we pursue to the talent we hire, is singularly dedicated to driving growth on the platform.

We’ve guided brands through the full funnel- from launch to scaling into the millions in GMV-and we’re just getting started.

We believe the future of e-commerce is social. That’s why we’re building a team of high-agency individuals who thrive on ownership, autonomy, and speed. Spotlight is not just a place to execute campaigns-it’s a blank canvas where ambitious people can build real leverage, take on increasing responsibility, and grow into senior operators quickly. Our culture is high-performing, entrepreneurial, and unapologetically ambitious.

Join us, and you’ll have the trust, resources, and runway to redefine what’s possible for the world’s leading brands.

The Role

Brands trust us every month with meaningful budgets to get creators producing content that sells, and this role exists to make sure that content actually performs, beginning well before the first video is ever filmed. You will spend your time studying what is working on TikTok Shop across our categories, understanding which hooks hold attention and which angles convert, and developing a genuine point of view on why certain videos generate tens of thousands of dollars in sales while others that look nearly identical generate almost nothing.

That research becomes the foundation for the creative content briefs you will write, which need to be specific, well reasoned, and grounded in evidence rather than intuition, clear enough that a creator you have never spoken with can film the right video on the first attempt. From there you will carry the campaign through to completion, which means getting briefs into creators' hands, managing timelines and following up consistently until every contracted video has been posted, reviewing each draft against the brief with a careful eye, and maintaining a high quality bar even in situations where that requires asking a creator to revise or reshoot their work.

This is a role with real ownership rather than a coordination job with a strategy title, and you will be accountable for the brief, the execution, and the performance of every video that ships under your campaigns. You will work directly with the founder in person in New York, sitting in on brand calls, creator negotiations, and campaign reviews, with structured weekly mentorship along the way. Our expectation is that within six months you will be capable of running a six-figure retainer program independently, because you will have developed the judgment to hold the quality bar yourself.

What You'll Do

  • Research top-performing TikTok Shop content in our categories on an ongoing basis, breaking down hooks, angles, structure, and pacing, and building a working library of what converts and the reasons why

  • Write creative content briefs that are specific, testable, and grounded in that research, where every recommended angle has a clear rationale behind it

  • Manage retainer campaigns from start to finish, including creator selection support, brief delivery, timeline management, and consistent follow-up until every contracted video is posted

  • Review each draft against its brief and either approve it, provide precise revision notes, or reject it, while keeping creators on schedule and maintaining strong working relationships

  • Track how videos perform relative to the briefs behind them, report results to the team weekly, and apply what you learn to the next round of briefs

  • Work within our campaign tools, including Cruva and Growi, so that the status of every campaign remains visible to the team in real time

Who You Are

  • Looking for meaningful ownership and direct feedback early rather than waiting years for either

  • Genuinely interested in short-form content, with the ability to articulate why one video works and another does not in terms that go deeper than surface-level engagement

  • A strong writer whose briefs are clear enough that a creator can deliver the right video on the first attempt without additional back-and-forth

  • Analytical by nature, preferring to reason from performance data rather than personal taste, and willing to change your position when the numbers point in a different direction

  • Consistent in your follow-through, since campaigns tend to fall apart through silence and this role depends on someone who keeps every thread moving

  • Able to hold a high quality standard while remaining professional and considerate with creators, giving direct feedback without damaging the relationship

  • Based in New York City or prepared to relocate, as this role is intentionally in-person given the mentorship and exposure it is built around

What You'll Learn

  • How to build content strategy from performance data rather than opinion, which is a skill very few places teach in a structured way

  • How creator commerce operates end to end, from sourcing and pricing through negotiation, briefing, production, and attribution

  • How to run campaigns with real budgets and real accountability while working directly alongside a founder

  • How an agency grows, with firsthand exposure to sales, strategy, and operations rather than a view from several layers removed.
