Position Overview

We're looking for a Manager of Data Analytics to turn our data into decisions across marketing, merchandising, operations, and finance. You'll own our reporting and analytics roadmap, lead our competitive intelligence function, shape how the business measures success, and partner with senior leaders to find growth opportunities in a fast-moving, highly competitive direct-to-consumer market. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll set direction and coach your team while still diving into the data yourself.


Essential Job Functions

  • Provide data drive, robust and detailed analyses of what is driving the business and recommendations on how to improve the business across commercial and channel teams, merchandising, marketing, and finance.
  • Own the roll out of our new analytics and BI platform, Sigma. Collaborate with the data engineering team and business stakeholders to prioritize continued development.
  • Build and maintain core KPIs and dashboards covering traffic, conversion, average order value, customer lifetime value, retention, returns, and marketplace performance.
  • Own competitive intelligence for Rugs USA, including tracking and analyzing our market share across every channel where we compete: our own site, marketplaces such as Amazon, Wayfair, and Walmart, and any other retail partners.
  • Monitor competitors' assortment, pricing, promotions, and positioning, and deliver regular competitive landscape reports that inform merchandising, marketing, and pricing strategy.
  • Evaluate and manage third-party market data sources (e.g., market share panels, marketplace intelligence tools, web traffic benchmarks) and combine them with internal data to build a complete view of our position in the category.
  • Support merchandising and inventory decisions with analysis of assortment performance, pricing, markdowns, demand forecasting, and sell-through
  • Design and analyze A/B tests on site experience, pricing, and promotions, and translate results into clear recommendations.
  • Partner with data engineering to improve data models, pipelines, and data quality, and help define a single source of truth for key metrics.
  • Present insights to executives in a concise, compelling way that drives action.
  • Establish Data Governance best practices for documentation, metric definitions, and self-service reporting.
  • Create and Deploy AI agents to be used by different teams in the organization.


You Have

  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics, ideally in e-commerce, retail, or direct-to-consumer.
  • Expert-level SQL and strong experience with a BI tool such as Sigma, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience with forecasting, demand forecasting, and profitability analysis
  • Proficiency in Python or R for analysis, modeling, and automation.
  • Solid grounding in statistics and experimentation, including test design, significance, and common pitfalls.
  • Experience with competitive or market intelligence, including estimating market share from third-party and marketplace data.
  • A track record of influencing senior stakeholders and turning ambiguous questions into structured analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science, or equivalent experience.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience leading a team or managing analysts.
  • Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms, and with marketplace channels such as Amazon, Wayfair, or Walmart.
  • Familiarity with competitive intelligence tools such as Yipit, Similarweb, Stackline, , Circana/NPD.
