From the employer

As SEO/AEO Manager at Pump, you'll make sure that when anyone searches for, or asks an AI assistant about, cutting their cloud bill, Pump is the answer. You'll own organic growth across traditional search and AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing team, own a channel end to end, and help shape our company culture and values.

What You'll Do

  • Own Pump's SEO and AEO strategy, from keyword and prompt research to rankings, citations, and pipeline.
  • Plan and brief content with the content team that wins high-intent searches (AWS, GCP, Azure pricing, savings plans, FinOps).
  • Lead technical SEO: site structure, schema, page speed, indexing, and internal linking.
  • Track and grow how often Pump is cited in AI-generated answers, and run experiments to improve it.
  • Build backlinks and digital PR with partners, customers, and publications.
  • Report on organic traffic, AI visibility, and the pipeline they drive.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–6 years in SEO, ideally in-house at a B2B SaaS company.
  • Hands-on experience optimizing for AI answer engines, and a point of view on where search is heading.
  • Strong technical SEO skills; comfortable working in a CMS like Webflow or Framer.
  • Fluent with tools like Ahrefs or Semrush, Google Search Console, and GA4.
  • Data-driven, with a record of growing organic pipeline, not just traffic.
  • Available to work 5 days a week onsite in our San Francisco office.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with programmatic SEO.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure or developer audiences.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation + equity
  • Comprehensive medical and dental coverage
  • 401(k) plan
  • Generous paid time off, including 13 days of accrued PTO, 9 sick days, all 11 federal holidays, and a company-wide winter break from December 24 through January 1
  • Free lunch at the office
  • Free access to the building gym
  • Annual company-paid retreats
  • Developmental bonuses: support for professional development tied to cloud and related fields
