As Social Media Operations Manager, you will help make this happen at scale by turning strategy into disciplined, data-led social media operations across Philips' global corporate channels.
Working closely with the Director of Social Media Communications and colleagues across Communications & Brand, HS Digital Marketing, PH Marketing, Digital Services, businesses and regions, you will connect global consistency with local relevance. This is a hands-on opportunity to combine social media governance, paid activation, performance intelligence and operational innovation to strengthen Philips' reputation as a health technology leader.
Your role:
- Drive the Comms & Brand social media operations strategy, aligned with Philips' Communications & Brand strategy, to support proactive and reactive communications workstreams.
- Own and continuously improve the global social media governance framework, including policies, standards, guidance, account security and ecosystem controls, bi-annual audits and capability-building for the network of social media professionals.
- Responsible for ensuring everyone has access to the right permissions of social media accounts Philips-wide, in closer collaboration with PH Marketing and HS Digital Marketing.
- Coordinate and execute region-led and global paid social comms activation across major social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Meta and more. From environment set up to planning, from strategy to execution, from briefing to launch, from optimization to reporting. You will conduct audience analysis covering healthcare professionals, the informed public, and operational context shapers.
- Build scalable operational solutions, including live dashboards, workflow automation and responsible AI-enabled ways of working, to improve transparency, speed and consistency across markets and teams.
- Builds and manages API integrations using AI-assisted development to power scheduled data pulls and self-sustaining internal social media tools.
- Support the activation of a strong earned social media presence through executives, thought leaders, employees and other credible voices, in close partnership with communications business partners and integrated activation colleagues. Thus, bridging the gap between content creation, organic feed and paid advertisement.
- Establish clear performance measurement and reporting approaches for paid and organic social media, translating campaign, audience and platform insights into practical recommendations that improve reach, engagement, efficiency and impact
- Advise teams on platform requirements, audience behavior, social trends and best practices, ensuring content and activation plans are fit for channel, audience and objective.
- Facilitate the Philips network of social media professionals, sharing insights, training and proven ways of working while building capability across functions, businesses and regions.
- Maintain high standards of quality, brand consistency, risk management and compliance, ensuring social media activity follows applicable governance, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Work on complex operational and performance questions that require sound judgment, strong analysis and the ability to balance global standards with market needs.
You're the right fit if:
- 7+ years of experience in social media, paid media, digital marketing or communications operations, ideally in a global matrix organization and preferably in healthcare, technology or another regulated sector.
- A demonstrated track record of leading end-to-end, cross-functional digital campaigns and paid social activation, from strategic briefing and budget planning through optimization, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Strong expertise in LinkedIn, Meta and Google, with working knowledge of relevant social media management, analytics and listening platforms such as Sprinklr, Sprout Social, social intelligence tools and advertising platforms.
- A data-driven approach and the ability to turn complex performance data into clear decisions, benchmarks and practical recommendations for senior stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Experience creating operational rigor through dashboards, process standardization, automation or AI-enabled workflows, with a clear commitment to responsible use of technology.
- Experience building governance, quality and compliance standards for corporate social media accounts and helping diverse teams adopt them consistently.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in communications, digital marketing, business, data, design or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Philips specifically invites candidates with equivalent experience to apply.
- Certified in AI Prompt Engineering and Agile project management.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders, explain performance trade-offs and build alignment across global and regional teams.
- A strategic mindset combined with hands-on delivery, strong project management and the curiosity to keep pace with changing platforms, audience behavior and technology.
- Positive energy and genuine enjoyment of collaborative work, helping colleagues focus on high-impact priorities and fostering clear, practical ways of working.
Compensation & benefits
Doing meaningful work should come with fair, transparent rewards. The base salary range for this role is EUR 61.200 - EUR 101.900. We determine pay within the range using objective factors, like the skills the role requires, your relevant experience and the responsibility you'll have in this role, alongside internal equity and local market considerations. This role is eligible for 3% short term incentive with your rewards linked to both individual performance and company results. We’ll share the full approach with you during the interview process, so you can make a clear, informed decision.
