Job Description

As an Accessibility and Content Editor with OMES you will enjoy:

Position Summary

As an Accessibility and Content editor, you will serve as the final line of defense for quality and brand integrity. You will transform complex information into readable, 508-compliant materials while maintaining high editorial standards and consistent branding across all communication channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, edit and verify a high volume of written content to ensure accuracy, clarity and strict adherence to state branding and AP Stylebook rules and guidelines.
  • Correct grammar, spelling and punctuation errors in informational and educational publications, bulletins, presentations, manuals, user guides and other communication materials.
  • Format and style Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents to meet professional branding guidelines and federal Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in English, communications or journalism and four (4) years of professional experience in content editing and/or accessibility remediation (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) in addition to experience using remediation software, preferably CommonLook.
