Northrop Grumman Legislative Affairs team is seeking a Community Engagement Representative. Located in Minot, ND, the Sentinel Community Engagement Representative reports to the Director of Legislative Affairs, State and Local Government Relations within the Corporate Legislative Affairs organization. 

This individual will serve as Northrop Grumman’s primary point of contact for local leaders, organizations, workforce development groups, and small businesses in the designated communities.

In this job, you’ll:

  • Lead Northrop Grumman’s community presence in planned Sentinel program workforce hub locations and surrounding areas.

  • Maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, workforce development groups, and small businesses.

  • Coordinate with Sentinel program executives to be fully informed about program issues and provide feedback and make recommendations about community engagements and workforce development issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (for example, public policy, economic development, communications) and a minimum of 10 years of work experience; Appropriate combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.

  • Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing successful engagement plans.

  • Proven self-starter who works effectively both individually and as part of a team, and is proficient with office software and applications.

  • Ability to anticipate community concerns and to work internally to make recommendations.

  • Demonstrated experience interacting with community leaders and company executives.

  • Strong judgment/decision-making skills and political acumen. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of, and established relationships within, the designated communities.

  • Experience in local economic development and/or workforce development at the state or local level.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • High level of integrity, and a hands-on approach to problem solving.

Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
