What you'll do

Find local stories by developing sources and reflecting the 10 On Your Side identity
Create and publish content for the station website and social channels throughout the day
Present reports on air with a strong presence and the ability to improvise when needed
Shoot and edit stories independently when working as a solo journalist
Balance deadlines, competing assignments and multiple tasks during coverage

What you bring

At least two years of experience as a multimedia journalist
A bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or a related field is preferred
Strong spoken and written communication, including comfort with ad-libbing
A valid driver’s license, a good driving record and proficiency with office equipment
Availability for any shift, including overnight and weekend work, plus a demo reel link in your application

The right candidate for this position will be able to break local stories by cultivating sources and live the 10 On Your Side brand. The MMJ will contribute content to our website and social media platforms throughout the day. The ability to shoot and edit stories as a solo journalist is a plus.

Requirements & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field preferred
2 + years MMJ experience
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
Superior on-air presence
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Flexibility to work any shift including overnights and weekends
