Universal Pictures New Zealand is a division of NBCUniversal. For almost a century, Universal has been known for its diverse slate of films, including classics such as Minions, Fast & Furious and the Jurassic World franchises, epic blockbusters such as The Odyssey as well as Blumhouse/Atomic Monster films. Universal Pictures is also the distributor for Warner Bros. Pictures theatrical films in New Zealand such as DC films and The Conjuring universe.

This role will assist the Universal Pictures NZ marketing team across all facets of the business but will primarily include Media, Promotions, and Finance together with administrative support. We have a big line up of films in 2027 including How to Train Your Dragon 2, The Mummy 2, Shrek 5, A Minecraft Movie Squared, The Lord of the Rings: Hunt for Gollum– each of which requires their own unique strategy and campaign, and your role will be assisting in delivering best in class marketing campaigns across our entire film slate.

General/Team support

  • Report into the Senior Media and Promotions Manager
  • Support the wider team as required
  • General administrative and event support at screenings and premiere events as required
  • Reception duties 1-2 days per week

Admin / Marketing Duties:

  • Attend weekly WIPs
  • Actively contribute to campaign ideas and brainstorm
  • Attend film screenings as required
  • Assist in pulling together presentations for both internal and head-office stakeholders
  • Proof-reading documents
  • Undertake any research needed for a campaign
  • Set up Marketing Brief templates, add key dates and keep the spreadsheet up to date
  • General administrative assistance as required
  • Other duties as required

Finance

  • Raise all Media POs in SAP and update budgets
  • Chase old invoices with suppliers
  • Management of spreadsheets across new & old finance systems & monitor PO transfers
  • Set up and implementation of new templates and processes to streamline the finance function
  • Eventually: Assist with FULL Budget reconciliations and PO close offs

Media

  • Media schedule and dispatch sheet checks
  • Chasing and collating proof of in-market advertising, TV Spotlists, POPs and post campaign analysis from agency partners
  • Compile post campaign wrap reports; writing an overview and adding a media PCA, promo wrap POPs and timelines
  • Draft awards submissions
  • Manage trailer reports, data and create dashboards from agencies, MDE and Just Watch

Promotions:

  • Manage merch orders for upcoming films
  • Brainstorm and help with the implementation of promotional concepts and rollout
  • Compile wrap reports for 6mth reviews
  • Assist with MX Passes
  • Manage monthly newsletter send out & Ticket giveaway including creative asset management, proofing, design and roll-out with Ahi

Basic Requirements:

  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and particularly Excel
  • Microsoft Co-Pilot and Canva experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Well organized with great prioritization skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Excellent communication and a great team player
