McLaurin Law PLLC | Houston, Texas | Full Time

$80,000 base salary plus a performance bonus (up to an additional $20,000) tied to hitting metrics

Bring Our Marketing In-House and Make the Phone Ring

McLaurin Law is a Houston plaintiff-side firm. We represent Texas policyholders in insurance coverage disputes, injured people in personal injury cases, and property owners and contractors in construction litigation.

We are a technology-first law firm. We build our own AI systems, we automate what should be automated, and we measure what we do. We are value driven, and we run as a meritocracy: results and ownership count for more than tenure or title. Our founder also spent years inside the insurance industry before switching sides, and that insider’s view shapes how we evaluate cases, how we talk to clients, and how we market.

The Plan You Will Inherit

This is not a blank page. Leadership has already set the direction. Your job is to run it, sharpen it, prove what works, and build on it.

  • Fast lead flow now. Google Local Services Ads and vetted paid lead sources for personal injury, with lead generation vendor scorecards and dispute rights in writing.
  • Referral partners. A structured referral partner program covering roughly thirty professions that touch our clients before we do, plus firm referral events.
  • Local search and content. Houston suburb landing pages, practice-area pages, and a blog calendar built around the questions clients actually ask.
  • Video. Short-form video on counterintuitive Texas insurance law, produced with an in-house AI voice and avatar pipeline and videos produced by the owner and people working at the firm. You will manage the calendar and the output.
  • Social. A consistent presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, fed by the video pipeline and blog. Every post ties back to a page, a phone number, or a form we can track.
  • Email marketing. Nurture sequences for open leads and unbooked consultations, follow-up drips by practice area, and a regular newsletter to past clients and referral partners. Built on Clio Grow automations and an email platform, measured by consultations booked, not opens.
  • SEO in-house. Move search work from an outside vendor to in-house ownership.
  • Targeted offline. Selective direct mail and community presence where the data supports it.
  • Intake alignment. Every lead sourced and tracked, with intake metrics (speed to contact, follow-up cadence, pipeline progression) already defined.

What You Will Own

  • The number. The monthly qualified-lead target by practice area, and the channel mix that hits it.
  • Lead generation vendors. Selection, negotiation, tracking, and the decision to cut what does not perform.
  • Paid advertising. Google Ads (PPC), Local Services Ads, and Meta campaigns end to end: targeting, budgets, creative, landing pages, call and form tracking, and weekly optimization.
  • Digital presence and reputation. The website, Google Business Profile, directories, reviews, email, and social channels, with a steady review-request process for closed matters and a response to every review.
  • The content and video calendar. Working with attorneys to turn case insight into pages, posts, and scripts, and feeding topics and scripts into the firm’s AI video pipeline.
  • The referral partner program. Outreach, touch cadence, events, and source tracking.
  • Marketing accounts and assets. Ad accounts, analytics, call tracking, domain, hosting, social handles, and logins held in the firm’s name, including a clean transition of assets and access from the outgoing agency.
  • Advertising compliance workflow. Attorney review of all public-facing content before it publishes, State Bar of Texas advertising review filings where required, and client consent for any testimonial or case story.
  • The weekly marketing meeting. Agenda, tracker, action items, and follow-through on the weekly marketing meeting with the owner and CMO.
  • Budget and reporting. Manage the marketing budget as set by the Owner/CMO, the weekly dashboard, and reports to the owner and CMO.
  • Testing. A short list of structured tests each quarter, each with a hypothesis, a budget, a success measure, and a decision date.
  • Attribution. From first touch to signed matter, so nobody at this firm has to guess where cases come from.

How the Bonus Works

The performance bonus is tied to the metrics you own:

  • Lead volume. Qualified leads per month by practice area, against the monthly target.
  • Cost efficiency. Cost per qualified lead and cost per signed matter, by channel.
  • Conversion. Lead to scheduled consultation and show-up rates, working jointly with intake.
  • Referral development. Active referral partners and referral-sourced matters.
  • Content and video cadence. Pages, posts, and videos published on schedule.
  • Reporting discipline. Weekly dashboard and monthly report delivered on time, with attribution complete.

Specific targets are set with you and the CMO after a short baseline period.

You May Be a Strong Fit If You

  • Have at least four years of hands-on marketing experience, ideally in a law firm, professional-services firm, insurance, or another business where trust drives the sale.
  • Have personally run paid lead generation or paid search and can explain cost per lead, cost per acquisition, and why a channel got cut.
  • Have built or managed a referral or business-development program and can show what it produced.
  • Write clearly and can turn an attorney’s explanation into plain-English content a stressed homeowner or injured worker would actually read.
  • Are comfortable with AI tools and curious about doing more with them. We build our own AI systems and expect you to use them.
  • Know your way around a CRM and a spreadsheet. Clio Grow, Google Ads, Google Business Profile, Airtable, Slack, and Microsoft 365 experience is a plus.
  • Bring sound judgment about attorney advertising rules, client confidentiality, and claims that need substantiation. Final ad approval stays with the attorneys.
  • Prefer evidence to activity. You would rather report a bad number honestly than dress up a vanity metric.

Why McLaurin Law

You will report to the firm’s CMO and work directly with the owner, who spends time on marketing every single day and will be in the weekly marketing meeting with you. There is no layer between you and the decision-maker. The firm is small enough that your work shows up in the case count within a quarter, and forward-thinking enough that you will be working with AI tooling most firms have not touched yet. We value initiative, clear thinking, and accountability. Ownership, pay, and opportunity here follow results, not seniority.

How to Apply

Skip the cover letter. Send your resume. If selected, we will email you asking you to complete a one-page write-up or a 2 to 4 minute video of a lead generation or growth problem you personally fixed. Tell us what was broken, what you changed, what you measured, and what you learned. Work samples or a short portfolio are welcome. Candidates who advance will complete a short working exercise built around a real McLaurin Law marketing question.

McLaurin Law PLLC is an equal opportunity employer. Final compensation and scope will reflect experience and demonstrated capability.
