The Manager, Area Marketing Strategy & Innovation will play a critical role in shaping and executing Mastercard's consumer marketing agenda across the region. This role combines strategic planning, marketing innovation, digital transformation, and integrated campaign development to ensure marketing investments are aligned with business priorities and deliver meaningful impact.

Working across Consumer Marketing, B2B Marketing, Product, Issuer, and regional stakeholders, the role will help identify growth opportunities, advance marketing capabilities, and drive innovative programs that strengthen Mastercard's competitive position in the market.


Role

The Manager, Area Marketing Strategy & Innovation is responsible for developing and driving marketing strategies that support business growth, customer engagement, and brand preference across Greater China.

The role will lead integrated marketing planning, consumer growth initiatives, digital and social marketing strategy, AI-enabled marketing innovation, and capability development. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to business and marketing stakeholders, helping to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, and bring innovative marketing ideas to market.




Key Responsibilities

· Support the development and maintenance of marketing performance dashboards and reporting frameworks.

· Measure and analyze campaign effectiveness across consumer, issuer, product, and partner marketing initiatives.

· Track key performance indicators including consumer engagement, transaction behavior, spend uplift, acquisition metrics, and business outcomes.

· Prepare regular marketing performance reports and executive summaries for internal stakeholders.

· Analyze marketing, customer, and transaction data to identify trends, opportunities, and optimization recommendations.

· Support the development of marketing attribution, ROI, and effectiveness measurement methodologies.

· Partner with business, finance, data, and marketing teams to improve visibility into marketing performance and investment effectiveness.

· Leverage internal and external data sources to generate actionable consumer and market insights.

· Support annual planning, business reviews, and campaign measurement exercises with data-driven recommendations.

· Continuously improve reporting processes, data quality, and measurement standards across the marketing organization.

· Experience in marketing strategy, consumer marketing, growth marketing, consulting, digital marketing, or innovation-related roles.

· Strong understanding of consumer behavior, digital ecosystems, media strategy, and emerging marketing trends.

· Demonstrated ability to develop integrated marketing strategies that drive business growth and customer engagement.

· Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across multiple functions and markets.

· Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen with the ability to connect marketing initiatives to business objectives.

· Experience working with agencies, media partners, technology platforms, and innovation ecosystems.

· Passion for innovation, AI-enabled marketing, and the future of customer engagement.

· Strong communication, storytelling, and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

· Experience within financial services, technology, digital commerce, or related industries is preferred.

· Bachelor's degree or above in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, Economics, or a related field.

· Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.

· Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with local, regional, and global stakeholders across diverse markets and cultures.
