Title and Summary
Director, Sales Specialist, Acceptance and Merchant Solutions SEAOverviewMastercard is seeking a commercially driven Merchant Cloud sales leader to join the Customer Solutions Centre (CSC) as Director, Sales Specialist, Acceptance and Merchant Solutions, Southeast Asia.
This role is primarily accountable for driving Merchant Cloud revenue growth across SEA, with clear ownership of pipeline development, deal origination, complex sales execution, and commercial closure. The successful candidate will lead sales of Mastercard’s Merchant Cloud platform (gateway, orchestration, value-added services) across acquirers, payment facilitators, ISVs, PSPs, and large strategic merchants.
Reporting to the Vice President, Sales Specialist, Acceptance & Merchant Solutions SEA, this role acts as the regional Merchant Cloud sales owner, complementing country teams by originating priority opportunities, accelerating large deals, and scaling platform adoption across the ecosystem.
The Role
• Own Merchant Cloud Revenue and Pipeline
Own divisional Merchant Cloud sales targets, including new logo wins, account expansion, and upsell of gateway and value-added services. Personally originate and close high-value, complex Merchant Cloud opportunities across SEA markets. Drive end-to-end sales cycles: opportunity qualification, value articulation, pricing and commercial structuring, executive negotiation, and deal closure. Maintain strong pipeline discipline, forecasting accuracy, and deal governance.
• Lead Merchant Cloud Go To Market Execution
Define and execute Merchant Cloud GTM strategies aligned to SEA market needs and partner models. Convert product capabilities into clear, outcome-driven commercial propositions for different customer segments. Build and leverage a strong ecosystem network to proactively generate Merchant Cloud demand rather than relying on inbound opportunities.
• Strategic Partner and Key Account Leadership
Develop deep, senior relationships with priority acquirers, PFs, ISVs, gateway partners and large digital merchants. Create joint growth plans that scale Merchant Cloud distribution and drive sustainable recurring revenue. Serve as the regional commercial escalation point for Merchant Cloud with multi-market partners.
• Commercial Structuring, Pricing and Deal Leadership
Partner closely with Global and Regional Merchant Cloud Product and Pricing teams to ensure competitive, market relevant pricing. Lead deal economics, business cases and internal approvals to support profitable, scalable growth. Balance growth ambition with margin discipline and long-term platform economics.
• Sales Enablement and Market Support
Equip country sales teams with Merchant Cloud sales plays, pitch narratives, and use cases. Support priority deals through joint client meetings, executive presentations, and negotiation support. Act as the regional Merchant Cloud subject-matter expert for sales execution.
• Proactively Engage with Customers to Drive Success
Feed structured market, customer, and competitive insights into Merchant Cloud roadmap. Identify threats from alternative gateways, orchestration platforms, and APMS, and shape commercial responses.
