This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Regional Specification Sales Manager-Midwest in Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Eastern Missouri and Kentucky with Signify/CLS.


  • Leads, coaches, and motivates a team of lighting agents. Fosters a collaborative culture focused on influence, innovation, and customer excellence.
  • Defines the market influence strategy to position Signify/CLS as a thought leader in lighting design and technology. Sets priorities for target segments, key design firms, and emerging applications such as connected lighting, human-centric lighting, and sustainable design.
  • Oversees specification activities to secure inclusion of Signify’s/CLS products and systems in project designs, tender documents, and building standards. Tracks influence-to-order conversion and ensures business impact from specification efforts.
  • Leads initiatives to identify and target key specifiers in relevant markets. Builds and maintains strong relationships with key architects, lighting designers, and engineering consultants. Represents Signify in design and specifier industry forums, conferences, and industry associations to strengthen brand reputation and thought leadership.
    Collaborates closely with Professional Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and agency teams to ensure seamless handover of specified opportunities and coordinated execution of project delivery. Coordinates with internal teams to develop tailored solutions that meet specifiers' needs.
  • Collaborates with marketing to develop promotional materials and campaigns aimed at specifiers.
  • Monitors market dynamics, regulatory changes, and competitor offerings to promote new technologies and solutions.
  • Ensures transparency of specification activities and effective measurement of pipeline impact and conversion performance. Analyzes specification data and prepares reports to inform sales strategies and business development efforts.
  • Identifies specification gaps in current product offering, analyses product and system gaps, conducts "voice of specifier" interviews to give timely feedback to offer management team to develop new lighting products and solutions.

More about you

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field essential for understanding lighting design and technology.
  • 7+ years of experience in specification sales or business development within the lighting or building technology industry, including leadership of technical teams and stakeholder engagement.
  • Relevant professional certifications in lighting design is preferred

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: $216,000 - $176,000 based on experience
  • Bonus: target bonus opportunity - 35%
