The Digital Marketing Operations Manager owns the functionality and performance of the company’s website, connected apps and other marketing technology platforms, ensuring their performance is aligned with business goals. This includes all supporting e-commerce across multiple websites and online channels (B2B and Direct-to-Consumer). Additionally, they will lead all reporting and analytics from digital marketing platforms and consistently find ways to improve performance and meet business goals defined by the team and company leadership.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate loves how technology boosts marketing, sales and ecommerce performance. They will have an excellent grasp of how technology relates to customer journeys and business objectives. On day one, they will be able to employ their hands-on expertise in BigCommerce or Shopify and the platform’s functionality and performance. They will also be experts in marketing technology ranging from onsite apps to email and other automated marketing tools. And finally, they will be an excellent communicator and project manager so they can guide their direct reports and be extremely collaborative with other teams and marketing personnel on projects of all sizes. WEBSITE AND MARKETING TECHNOLOGY
  • Own website(s) functionality and marketing technology that facilitates revenue growth and healthy KPIs to support that growth.
  • Lead the evaluation, planning, scheduling, deployment, execution, and maintenance of all site functionality and marketing technology.
  • Takes responsibility for uptime of all marketing platforms and works with others, when needed, to ensure systems are not failing and customers have a seamless experience
  • Serve as the main liaison and sometimes project manager between departments for ensuring integration of major marketing technology platforms with other company systems and processes.
CUSTOMER JOURNEY
  • Take ownership of digital customer journeys (both B2B and Direct-to-Consumer)
  • Bring opportunities to the group to improve customer journey and revenue growth
  • Align digital marketing touchpoints to how/when/where customers are acquired and track success/failure along the customer journey.
  • Understand and implement personalization and segmentation without site and email platforms
  • Communicate clearly what is possible to internal teams and customers, when needed
REPORTING/ANALYTICS
  • Own major KPIs as well as related metrics for all websites, website apps and other 3rd party platforms, including collection, analysis and recommendations for improvement in areas like conversions/conv. rate, cart size, returns and overall customer experience.
  • Own the reporting tools used by the department, primarily Google Analytics and performance data from primary platforms, and serve as main point of contact for all reporting needs related to digital marketing.
  • Build ad hoc reports as needed, primarily related to digital platforms, based on needs to the department or company.
MANAGEMENT
  • Own digital technology budget, from planning through constant monitoring, to ensure most effective spend and prevent overspending to budget.
  • Manage team of digital marketing specialists in terms of scheduling, performance reviews and bonus/salary reviews. Lead candidate search for new talent when needed.
  • Manage outside agency relationships with vendors to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of services and positive results from relationships.
OTHER DUTIES
  • The ideal candidate understands that ecommerce and marketing technology are always changing and doesn’t just fall in love with a single tactic or a new technology because it’s new. They are willing to evolve into new duties related to ecommerce and digital marketing
  • 5-10 years of digital marketing experience with a strong understanding of key digital marketing principles.
  • 3-5 Years BigCommerce or Shopify website; BigCommerce preferred with BigCommerce B2B App/Module
  • Must have at least five (5) years minimum experience managing e-commerce websites doing a minimum of $10M a year or more with more than 500 product variations
  • Must have 2 years’ experience with API data flows synching cross-channel marketing data (examples: from BigCommerce to Klaviyo, or API to limited BigCommerce segments)
  • Expert understanding of website technologies, HTML/CSS, content management systems
  • Experience executing and reporting on campaigns/activities with digital marketing tools such as Klaviyo, Yotpo, JustUno or similar programs that add to marketing automation capabilities
  • 3-5 Years Google Analytics/GA4 or similar analytics tool
  • Must have one (1) years of experience managing budgets and ideally 1 to 3 direct reports for digital marketing and websites.
  • Must have advanced Excel reporting skills and have a strong background in creating, reading, and making suggestions based on data.
  • Experience working with B2B and Direct-to-Consumer audiences
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (such as Outlook, Word, and PPT).

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business; coursework in digital media, web design, and/or computer programming is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience managing day-to-day ecommerce operations and digital marketing tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
