Who this fits

You’ll suit this remote contractor role if you’re based in the Philippines and can collaborate during Australian business hours while staying flexible in how you organize your work. You’ll need to disclose any ongoing roles or client work and identify this engagement on LinkedIn as an independent contractor. The role fits someone who wants to start with content and social media, then develop into broader digital marketing responsibilities.

From the employer

Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Brand & Content Marketing Specialist

Compensation range: $1,800 AUD - $2,200 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is a growing Australian disability and community support organisation focused on providing person-centred care and practical support that helps people live more independently and stay connected to their communities.

With a close-knit team and a strong focus on quality, relationships and genuine impact, the organisation is continuing to expand and is looking for talented people who want to grow with the business.

Role Overview: We’re looking for a highly capable and creative Brand & Marketing Content Specialist to join a growing disability services business in Australia.

This is not a basic social media posting role. We’re looking for someone who understands how to create content that speaks to the right audience, builds trust, and supports business growth.

The ideal candidate will be confident in creating short-form video and social media content, particularly Reels, while also producing professional and engaging LinkedIn content. You’ll need to bring your own ideas, understand the audience beyond just the internal team, and be comfortable using AI and modern content creation tools to work efficiently.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone who wants to grow with the business. Over time, there is potential to develop into a broader digital marketing role, including Meta and Google Ads management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging short-form video content, Reels and social media content
  • Edit videos using CapCut and other relevant content creation tools
  • Develop professional, engaging and audience-focused LinkedIn content
  • Create content that reflects the needs, interests and challenges of the target audience
  • Research relevant topics, trends and content opportunities within the disability and community services space
  • Develop content ideas independently rather than relying solely on instructions
  • Use AI tools effectively for content research, ideation, writing, editing and production
  • Repurpose existing content into different formats and platforms
  • Maintain a consistent content schedule across relevant social channels
  • Monitor content performance and identify opportunities to improve engagement
  • Work closely with the team to understand business priorities, services and messaging
  • Ensure all content is professional, accurate, on-brand and appropriate for the target audience
  • Stay up to date with social media trends, formats and best practices
  • Eventually assist with Meta and Google Ads, with training and support provided as your skills develop
  • Take ownership of marketing tasks and proactively suggest ways to improve the business’s online presence

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a top-performing marketer/content creator who can take ownership of the role and make a real impact.

You should have:

  • Proven experience creating short-form video content and Reels
  • Strong CapCut skills and confidence with video editing
  • Experience creating content for LinkedIn and other social media platforms
  • Strong written English and excellent communication skills
  • A good understanding of audience-focused marketing and messaging
  • The ability to create content that connects with customers and the broader community, not just internal stakeholders
  • Strong creative thinking and the ability to generate your own content ideas
  • Experience using AI tools to improve content creation and productivity
  • A strong eye for quality, presentation and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative
  • A willingness to learn and develop new marketing skills
  • Strong responsiveness and communication during working hours
  • A genuine interest in building a long-term career with a growing business

Advantageous Experience

The following would be highly regarded:

  • Experience in the healthcare, disability, NDIS, community services or aged care sectors
  • Experience managing business social media accounts
  • Experience with Meta Business Suite / Meta Ads Manager
  • Experience with Google Ads
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing metrics and campaign performance
  • Experience using tools such as Canva, ChatGPT or other AI-powered content tools
  • Experience developing content strategies rather than simply following a content calendar

Working Style

The successful candidate will be expected to be:

  • Proactive — able to identify what needs to be done without constant direction
  • Responsive — available and communicative during agreed working hours
  • Reliable — committed to delivering work on time and to a high standard
  • Creative — willing to test new ideas and approaches
  • Detail-oriented — understands that quality matters
  • Growth-minded — interested in developing their skills as the business grows
  • Accountable — takes ownership of their work and communicates early if there are issues

The team primarily uses Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365, and the successful candidate will be expected to remain connected and responsive during the agreed collaboration hours.

Growth & Development

This is intended to be a long-term position, not a short-term VA placement.

The business is willing to invest in the right person and provide opportunities for professional development and increased responsibility as performance grows.

The successful candidate may initially focus on content and social media, with the opportunity to progressively take on:

  • Meta advertising
  • Google Ads
  • Campaign management
  • Digital marketing strategy
  • Performance reporting
  • Broader marketing responsibilities

As your skills, responsibilities and contribution to the business increase, there is genuine potential for salary progression and career development.

Why Join?

  • Long-term opportunity with a growing Australian business
  • Work directly with an established team
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the company’s marketing
  • Training and professional development opportunities
  • Potential pathway into broader digital marketing responsibilities
  • Strong potential for increased remuneration as responsibilities and performance grow
  • Opportunity to build a long-term career rather than simply completing assigned VA tasks

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who looks at a business’s social media and thinks:

“I can make this better.”

You’re creative, commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership. You understand that good content isn't simply about making something look nice — it needs to speak to the right people, communicate the right message and ultimately support the growth of the business.

If you’re a strong content creator who wants the opportunity to grow into a broader digital marketing role, we’d love to hear from you.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
