The Associate, Brand Strategy & Activation supports the development, activation, and adoption of Humana's brand strategy across the enterprise. This role translates customer, market, competitive, and business insights into actionable recommendations, helping ensure brand priorities are consistently reflected across campaigns, communications, customer experiences, and business initiatives. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Associate supports strategic planning, brand governance, activation, and enablement efforts that strengthen brand awareness, differentiation, and customer engagement.

As the Associate, Brand Strategy & Activation, you will help shape how Humana's insurance brands come to life across the enterprise. This role, reporting into the Associate Director of Brand Strategy, supports the management, activation, and adoption of brand strategy by translating customer, market, competitive, and business insights into meaningful brand experiences across marketing, communications, customer journeys, and business initiatives.

You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure brand priorities are consistently applied across touchpoints while supporting strategic planning, activation, governance, and enablement efforts. This role is ideal for an emerging brand strategist who is passionate about understanding customers, solving business challenges, and helping teams bring a brand to life in meaningful ways.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the development and activation of brand strategy by synthesizing customer, market, competitive, and business insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Support activation planning and execution, including project coordination, stakeholder alignment, and implementation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure brand strategies are effectively translated into campaigns, communications, experiences, and other customer touchpoints.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen brand awareness, differentiation, engagement, and customer experience.
  • Develop and maintain brand enablement resources such as playbooks, toolkits, guidelines, templates, and training materials.
  • Support brand strategy governance efforts by providing guidance and recommendations that promote consistent application of brand positioning, messaging, and tone of voice.
  • Leverage consumer, market, and competitive insights to inform brand recommendations and activation opportunities.
  • Assist in monitoring brand health, campaign, and activation performance metrics to assess effectiveness and identify optimization opportunities. Help synthesize findings and key learnings into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience in brand strategy, brand management, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting integrated marketing campaigns or brand activation initiatives.
  • Understanding of brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and brand management principles.
  • Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, agency, financial services, consumer packaged goods, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience developing briefs, activation plans, training materials, or brand guidance resources.
  • Experience leveraging consumer and market insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Experience applying brand guidelines, reviewing creative work, or supporting brand governance processes.
  • Experience working with creative agencies or external partners.

Additional Information

Occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


$71,100 - $97,800 per year


This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
