Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory is seeking an experienced Director/Managing Director, Investment Grade Sales to join it’s Sales & Trading platform. This individual will be responsible for building and expanding institutional client relationships, distributing investment grade credit products, providing differentiated market insight, and driving revenue growth across the Investment Grade platform. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to institutional investors while partnering closely with trading, syndicate, research, and investment banking teams to deliver best-in-class execution and market intelligence. Benchmark responsibilities align with institutional credit sales roles emphasizing client coverage, market color, new issue distribution, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and expand relationships with institutional investors, including asset managers, insurance companies, pension funds, hedge funds, and other fixed income investors.
- Drive revenue generation through client coverage, trade execution, idea generation, and proactive distribution of investment grade credit opportunities.
- Provide clients with timely market color, relative value opportunities, issuer updates, and strategic insights across the investment grade credit market.
- Partner closely with Investment Grade Trading to facilitate execution and deliver seamless client service.
- Collaborate with Syndicate and Investment Banking teams on new issue marketing, investor feedback, price discovery, order gathering, allocations, and aftermarket performance.
- Communicate market intelligence and investor sentiment to banking, syndicate, research, and trading teams to support origination and capital markets activities.
- Identify opportunities to increase wallet share and deepen client engagement across the broader Fixed Income and Capital Markets platform.
- Prospect and onboard new institutional relationships while strengthening existing accounts.
- Represent Citizens Capital Markets at client meetings, industry conferences, and investor events.
- Mentor junior sales professionals and contribute to a collaborative, client-focused culture.
- Maintain strict adherence to regulatory, supervisory, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of institutional fixed income sales experience, with significant exposure to Investment Grade Credit.
- Demonstrated track record of managing and growing institutional client relationships.
- Deep understanding of investment grade corporate bond markets, primary issuance, secondary trading dynamics, and market structure.
- Experience marketing credit ideas, executing transactions, and providing value-added market intelligence to sophisticated institutional investors.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets, issuer fundamentals, credit products, and fixed income investing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across sales, trading, syndicate, banking, and research teams.
- Series 7 and 63 licenses required (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Established institutional investor relationships preferred.

Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $300,000 to $400,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to, the budget, the work location, and relevant skills and experience.
