We adapt existing Pearson print and digital content to create tailored learning solutions for institutional clients worldwide. Our work is fast-paced, highly collaborative, and focused on delivering high-quality learning materials that meet local market needs while maintaining Pearson’s editorial and pedagogical standards.

About the Role:

This role aligns to industry-level titles such as Content Editor, Content Developer, ELT Editor, Editorial Project Coordinator, and Custom Publishing Editor.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Content Editor / Content Developer to join our Custom Publishing team. In this role, you will support the adaptation, development, quality assurance, and delivery of customized English Language Teaching content for institutional clients across global markets.

You will work with existing Pearson content, adapting materials to meet specific client requirements such as curriculum alignment, branding, localization, cultural adaptation, and limited content customization. The role combines editorial quality assurance, vendor coordination, file handling, documentation, and increasing ownership of smaller projects, with the opportunity to take on broader project responsibility as you grow in the position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adapt existing Pearson ELT print and digital content to meet client, curriculum, market, branding, and localization requirements.
  • Review and edit content for linguistic accuracy, pedagogical appropriacy, consistency, quality, and alignment with client briefs and Pearson editorial standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on vendor-produced materials, including print and digital proofs, Word documents, PDFs, and platform-based content.
  • Coordinate with freelance authors, editors, and designers to ensure materials are delivered on time and to the expected quality standards.
  • Prepare clear editorial briefs, checklists, and instructions to support external collaborators.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Project Management, Rights & Permissions, Digital Production, Design, and other publishing teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track corrections, updates, timelines, and project status in a clear and systematic way using relevant project management tools and documentation.
  • Take ownership of projects from the beginning, with the expectation of developing the ability to manage broader projects more independently over time.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, workflow improvement, and content strategy discussions.

Required skills and experience:

  • Strong alignment with Pearson’s culture and values.
  • Proven editorial experience, ideally with at least two to three years in content development, editing, publishing, or a similar editorial role.
  • Strong command of English, with native-level or near-native proficiency.
  • Experience reviewing, editing, proofreading, and checking content with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with editorial standards, style guides, client feedback, briefs, and checklists.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Analytical thinking, adaptability, and comfort working with changing priorities and urgent customer needs.
  • Background in English Language Teaching, education publishing, academic publishing, assessment, or teaching is highly desirable.
  • Experience with ELT materials, worksheets, lesson plans, teacher resources, or learning content is a plus.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms, digital production workflows, or content management tools is an advantage.
