Introduction

The Senior Systems & Solutions Engineer will be a hands-on customer-facing technical leader for the Custom Digital MCU/MPU business. The role will work with customer engineering teams to understand product architectures, identify system requirements, position GF/MIPS processor and mixed-signal capabilities, and translate customer needs into clear product and technology roadmap inputs.

The ideal candidate combines embedded processor systems depth with customer credibility. They should be comfortable discussing real-time control, embedded software, system partitioning, connectivity, safety/security, mixed-signal integration, and application-specific tradeoffs with both customer engineers and internal product/architecture teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage customer engineering teams to understand product systems, architecture choices, workloads, software stacks, constraints, and roadmap needs.

  • Translate customer needs into clear requirements for MCU/MPU products, processor subsystems, mixed-signal IP, software, safety/security, connectivity, and platform derivatives.

  • Support design-win pursuits with architecture discussions, technical differentiation, competitive comparisons, and customer-specific solution positioning.

  • Develop system-level collateral including block diagrams, requirements matrices, reference architectures, customer use-case notes, and competitive positioning material.

  • Work with product management, silicon architecture, software, and design teams to validate feasibility and prioritize customer-driven roadmap inputs.

  • Own selected vertical coverage such as automotive zonal/SDV, motor drive/robotics, industrial automation, Edge AI, networking/infrastructure, or e-mobility.

  • Provide customer feedback loops to internal teams and help convert market insights into product decisions.

  • Participate in customer workshops, technical reviews, architecture deep-dives, and executive design-win discussions as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of embedded systems, applications engineering, product systems, processor architecture support, customer solutions, or related semiconductor experience.

  • Strong understanding of MCU/MPU product architectures, embedded software, hardware/software partitioning, and customer product requirements.

  • Hands-on experience with one or more of: automotive electronics, industrial automation, robotics/motor control, networking/infrastructure, e-mobility, or Edge AI systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customer engineering teams and internal silicon/software/product teams.

  • Experience creating technical collateral, competitive analysis, architecture recommendations, and requirements documentation.

  • Comfortable working across hardware, software, safety/security, connectivity, and mixed-signal technology domains.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain tradeoffs clearly and crisply.

Preferred Background / Target Talent Pools

  • Systems, applications, field applications, solutions engineering, or product architecture experience at embedded processor, MCU/MPU, industrial, automotive, or networking semiconductor companies.

  • Experience with real-time operating systems, embedded Linux, AUTOSAR, motor-control software, industrial protocols, TSN, CAN/CAN-FD/CAN-XL, Ethernet, HSM/security, or functional safety.

  • Customer-facing experience with OEMs, Tier-1s, industrial automation companies, robotics/motion-control companies, or networking/infrastructure customers.

  • Ability to travel for customer workshops and internal engineering reviews as required.
