Performance Marketing Manager
Location: New York, New York
Salary: $75,000 - $95,000

Who We Are

GeistM is a global full-funnel performance marketing company helping brands scale through the intersection of creative, content, data, and technology. We develop and execute performance-driven campaigns across Meta, TikTok, Google, YouTube, native, and emerging channels, combining strong creative thinking with rigorous testing and optimization to drive measurable growth.

About the Role

GeistM is looking for an experienced Performance Marketing Manager to lead strategy, execution, and growth across a portfolio of client accounts.

This is a hands-on performance marketing and people leadership role. We're looking for someone who knows Meta Ads deeply, can look at campaign performance and determine what needs to happen next, confidently lead client conversations, and develop junior members of the Growth team.

You'll own performance across paid social, native, and search channels, with a strong emphasis on Meta, while partnering closely with Creative and Content to test, optimize, and scale campaigns.

This role is ideal for someone who has worked in an agency or multi-client environment and is comfortable balancing campaign performance, client relationships, team leadership, and multiple priorities at once.

What You'll Own

Performance Strategy & Campaign Management

  • Own strategy, execution, optimization, and scaling across a portfolio of client accounts.
  • Manage and optimize campaigns across Meta Ads, with additional responsibility across native, search, and other relevant performance channels.
  • Own campaign structure, budgets, pacing, targeting, testing, and optimization against CPA, ROAS, revenue, and client growth targets.
  • Identify performance issues and opportunities across the full acquisition funnel, including creative, audiences, landing pages, conversion paths, and campaign structure.
  • Make clear, data-driven decisions about what to scale, what to test, where to reallocate spend, and when strategy needs to change.
  • Develop and execute structured testing plans across creative, messaging, audiences, placements, landing pages, and new channels.
  • Stay current on Meta platform changes, paid-media trends, attribution, and emerging growth opportunities.

Creative & Full-Funnel Optimization

  • Partner closely with Creative and Content teams to translate performance data into actionable creative direction.
  • Identify winning creative themes, hooks, messaging, audiences, and formats and use those insights to guide future testing.
  • Understand how creative performance, media buying, landing-page experience, and conversion flow work together to drive results.
  • Build testing roadmaps that generate repeatable learnings rather than isolated experiments.
  • Communicate clearly what is working, what isn't, why, and what should be tested next.

Client & Commercial Ownership

  • Serve as the strategic lead and primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Lead client calls, performance discussions, kickoffs, and QBRs.
  • Translate complex campaign data into clear insights, recommendations, and action plans.
  • Own client budgets, pacing, forecasts, and net revenue projections.
  • Proactively identify performance risks and opportunities before they become client concerns.
  • Recommend additional networks, testing opportunities, budget increases, and expansion initiatives when supported by performance.
  • Build trusted client relationships through strong strategic thinking, transparency, and consistent follow-through.

Team Leadership

  • Manage and develop junior members of the Growth team, providing clear direction, feedback, coaching, and accountability.
  • Effectively delegate campaign responsibilities while maintaining ownership of overall account strategy and performance.
  • Review team output and ensure campaigns, reporting, and client deliverables meet GeistM's standards.
  • Help team members strengthen their analytical thinking, platform knowledge, optimization skills, and client communication.
  • Share performance learnings, platform updates, and best practices across the Growth team.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Creative, Content, and leadership to improve client outcomes.

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of hands-on performance marketing experience, ideally within an agency or multi-client environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Meta Ads Manager, including campaign structure, audience strategy, budget optimization, creative testing, and scaling.
  • Demonstrated experience managing meaningful paid-media budgets and delivering against CPA, ROAS, revenue, or other performance targets.
  • Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously and taking ownership of both strategy and execution.
  • Strong understanding of the full customer acquisition funnel, including paid media, creative, landing pages, conversion, attribution, and optimization.
  • Experience interpreting campaign data and turning it into clear strategic recommendations and testing priorities.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or developing junior marketers.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and confidence leading conversations around performance, strategy, budgets, and challenges.
  • Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities, deadlines, and client needs in a fast-moving agency environment.
  • Strong ownership mentality; you identify problems early, recommend solutions, and follow through.
  • Experience with native advertising, paid search, analytics, attribution, or conversion tracking.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

You'll Be a Strong Fit If You Can...

  • Open Meta Ads Manager and quickly understand what is driving or limiting performance.
  • Explain why a campaign is performing the way it is, not simply report the numbers.
  • Manage multiple clients without losing sight of execution details or strategic priorities.
  • Coach a junior marketer through a problem instead of simply fixing it for them.
  • Balance CPA and ROAS targets with the broader objective of finding sustainable opportunities to scale.
  • Move comfortably between hands-on campaign work, strategic thinking, client leadership, and people management.

Why GeistM

  • Work with a collaborative, performance-driven team across a diverse portfolio of global clients.
  • Take meaningful ownership of client strategy and business outcomes.
  • Work closely with Creative and Content teams to test ideas and turn performance insights into action.
  • Develop your leadership skills while coaching and growing other marketers.
  • Flexible hybrid structure with one required in-office day per week.
  • Work in an environment where experimentation, data, and continuous improvement are central to how we operate.
