Who this fits

You’ll suit a hands-on senior creative role where you own organic social while connecting creative choices to growth results. The work combines customer shoots, solo production, editing, platform strategy, and performance analysis across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. You’ll work remotely from New York, travel for shoots, and operate with substantial independence on a lean, early-stage team.

From the employer

About Us

Garage powers the exchange of critical assets across America’s essential industries. We started with fire departments, where purchasing mission-critical vehicles and equipment used to take months of paperwork, phone calls, and delays. Our agentic platform automates the entire transaction: discovery, payments, freight, paperwork, warranty, and financing. What once took months now takes minutes.

In under a year, we’ve expanded to cities and towns in all 50 states and grown revenue more than 10x. Based in New York, we’ve raised $18M from Y Combinator, Initialized Capital, Infinity Ventures, FJ Labs, and other leading investors. We’re moving fast, growing quickly, and just getting started.

About the Role:

We're looking for a rare hybrid: someone who can shoot it, cut it, and tell you why it worked. You'll own organic social end to end at Garage — the strategy, the camera, the timeline, and the numbers behind all three. Fire trucks, ambulances, dump trucks, and vac trucks are some of the most visually interesting machines in America, and there’s an opportunity to build a real audience around them. You'll build the content engine that makes Garage a household name in the communities that keep America moving.

This is a hands-on role on a lean team. You'll be in the field with our customers, at the office editing, and in the analytics figuring out what to make more of. You'll need to intimately understand the customer journey, the marketing mix, and the broader business goals — organic social here is a growth channel, not a brand exercise.

What you'll do

  • Own organic social strategy and execution across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok — what we make, why we make it, and which audience it's for on both the buyer and seller side

  • Shoot and edit the majority of it yourself: on-site with customers, at conferences, and out in the field - then cut platform-native video that earns attention in the first two seconds

  • Build a repeatable content system — formats, series, and shot lists that a small team can run weekly without reinventing the wheel every time

  • Set the measurement framework and read it honestly: retention curves, follower growth, saves and shares, profile-to-site traffic, and downstream contribution to listings, threads, and GMV

  • Turn insight into iteration — kill formats that don't hold attention, double down on the ones that do, and be able to explain the difference

  • Develop talent and voices on camera, from our own team to the operators, mechanics, and chiefs who make this category interesting

  • Feed the rest of the machine — the best-performing organic creative should become our paid creative, our email creative, and our conference creative

What we're looking for

  • You love the energy of a high-growth environment where every day looks a little different

  • You spike as a creator but think like a growth marketer — you can defend a creative call with data and a data call with taste

  • You find this category genuinely interesting, or you're the kind of person who gets interested fast

  • You have good judgment, high integrity, and a no-task-too-small mindset

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

  • 4+ years making social-first video content, with a reel that proves it

  • You are the shooter and the editor — comfortable owning a shoot solo (framing, lighting, audio) and fluent in editing tools (Premiere, Capcut, After Effects, etc)

  • Have grown an account or a channel from a standing start and can walk us through the numbers you moved and the decisions that moved them

  • Native fluency in platform mechanics — how the algorithms actually distribute, what formats are working right now, and why

  • Comfortable testing and iterating quickly with analytical rigor

  • Willing to travel to shoot

  • Thrive with high autonomy in an early, ambiguous environment

Nice to have

  • Experience scaling marketplace businesses

  • Built audiences in a niche, technical, or trade category rather than a mass-consumer one

  • Have worked with creators or subject-matter experts as on-camera talent

  • Comfort with photography and static design alongside video

Our values

  • Growth oriented. We invest in people who grow as the company grows. We all should be constantly learning.

  • Humility. Everyone has a lot to give and a lot to learn. We believe in creating an environment where the best ideas win and acknowledging when we are wrong.

  • Customer focused. We have a genuine love for our customers. Customer success is our success.

  • Hack to success. We move fast and take big swings. We always aim for a solution that addresses 80% of the problem in 20% of the time. We make informed bets, launch quickly, and iterate.

Why Garage?

  • Our product is something people use everyday to buy the equipment local communities everywhere depend on.

  • We’ve grown revenue over 10x in the last year and are well capitalized with $18M in funding raised total.

  • We have a talent-dense, high-performing team from Ramp, Twitter, Goldman Sachs, Bilt, Wise, Unify, Honey, PayPal, and more.

  • You’ll be one of our first 40 employees, operating as a foundational member of the team, partnering alongside the company’s founders.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and stock options

  • Health, dental and vision insurance (100% covered)

  • Unlimited paid time off every year (in addition to company observed holidays)

  • Daily lunch and dinner

  • $100 monthly wellness stipend

  • 401(k) with employer match

  • Pre-tax commuter benefits

  • Bi-annual team offsite

  • Relocation assistance
