Job Summary
The Channel Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting Multiple large accounts (examples include Big Box Retailers, Distributors and/or lumberyards) which would be more accounts that the Manager Role. (This role is also responsible for approximately 2X the company revenue compared with the manager role.)

As such, the Manager must bring strong relationships with Accounts, networking with a variety of stakeholders, and displaying frontline sales skills, as well as cross-functional collaborative working. The Manager represents and acts for some of GAF's most important customers from a marketing perspective and success requires communicating customer needs, developing programs that address these needs in a way that draws on expertise from across the marketing function and beyond as a thought partner with a variety of marketing disciplines. The Manager must also look outwards, keeping abreast of trends in the industry including digital advancements throughout the customer experience. Hence, as well as executing on requests, the Channel Marketing Manager should have the ability to conceive and advocate for their own ideas and suggestions.

Given the breadth of activities, the role requires management of many different products and timelines, requiring strong project management. The role also requires much interface with senior GAF management and customer management, requiring good upward management skills and communication ability.

Essential Duties

  • The Manager Channel Marketing will be responsible for identifying and developing new marketing programs in collaboration with the VP Retail Marketing and a variety of colleagues in the marketing function. Lead Annual Process from Planning and Marketing Commercialization with Customer Base including selling in strategic marketing initiatives to drive growth.
  • Project manage and oversee execution of customer marketing programs, including programs conceived by GAF and programs and requests initiated by the customer working with both internal and external resources.
  • Build and maintain relationships with merchandising and marketing contacts at assigned accounts to understand needs and context, including working closely with colleagues in sales.
  • Partners directly with sales leadership to identify short and long term selling opportunities.
  • Prepare for and support retail marketing events including supplier reviews, selected store events, other major customer meetings and activities.
  • Lead and Manage budgeting process and planning.
  • Conduct Market research where needed and stay on top of the latest shopper behaviors, trends and emerging technologies in the marketplace.


Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s degree MBA preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in customer marketing with retail experience
  • This position is based in our Parsippany, NJ corporate headquarters which currently operates on a hybrid in-office schedule. Though employees are welcome to work in our office on Friday, this position must be performed in-office on Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely from the employee's home office on Friday

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Base Salary Range: $120,000-$165,000
