Description
In this role, you'll oversee the global media planning function across our Commercial Solutions organisation. You'll manage a team of 20 media planners based in London and New York. Your work ensures integrated, audience-first media strategies deliver exceptional outcomes for advertising partners. You'll also maximise the value of our premium portfolio of brands and platforms.
Working closely with Sales, Creative Strategy, Client Success, Research & Insights, Ad Operations, Revenue Operations, and Editorial, you'll develop innovative, insight-based media solutions. These solutions will meet client goals and enhance sustainable revenue growth. You'll establish planning standards and foster global market integration. This ensures media recommendations remain grounded in audience intelligence and operational excellence.
What You'll Do

- Oversee the global media planning function across London and New York to establish a unified, insight-based planning approach.
- Develop strategic media recommendations for high-value client opportunities, global partnerships, and complex integrated campaigns.
- Partner with Sales, Creative Strategy, and Ad Operations to deliver compelling proposals and ensure successful campaign execution.
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of 20 media planners, establishing clear career pathways and performance processes.
- Standardize planning methodologies, tools, and best practices globally while adopting new planning technologies and AI-enabled workflows.
- Act as the senior media planning advisor for key global clients, presenting integrated media strategies to executive stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in media planning and media strategy within premium publishing, media, agency, or digital environments.
- Experience leading large, geographically distributed planning teams.
- Deep understanding of cross-platform media planning, including print, digital, social, video, audio, experiential, and emerging media.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting enterprise sales organizations and high-value client partnerships.
- Expertise in audience measurement, media research, first-party data strategies, and campaign effectiveness.
- Experience building scalable planning processes and operational frameworks.
- Excellent executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to influence senior leaders internally and externally.

The expected range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000. This is a hybrid role, working 3 days from the New York office.
