Role brief

Growth Roles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Own the company’s editorial voice and content direction across essays, launches, and narrative work
  • Explain infrastructure, AI, and energy topics in writing that technical readers respect
  • Keep essays, technical stories, executive communications, and launches moving as the company ships
  • Work with founders, engineers, and marketing to uncover the substance behind the work
  • Set a high editorial bar and improve every public piece and contributor’s writing

What you bring

  • You have shaped the voice of a company or publication for a technical audience
  • You have produced or edited substantial work that earned credibility with skeptical readers
  • You can draw a clear story from complex technical work through conversations with engineers or founders
  • You have created an editorial workflow that publishes regularly without making the writing generic
  • You edit rigorously and can publish quickly when news requires it

Who this fits

You’ll suit this role if you can lead editorial work for a deeply technical company and move between long-form storytelling, launches, and executive communications. The position is full-time and onsite in Austin. Technical, infrastructure, energy, or deep-tech experience is a bonus, and Fluidstack says it will consider exceptional applicants who do not match every listed point.

From the employer

About Fluidstack

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

Role Scope

  • Own the editorial voice and content strategy for a deeply technical company, from long-form narrative to launch messaging.

  • Turn complex infrastructure, AI, and energy work into writing that engineers and AI labs take seriously.

  • Build and run the editorial pipeline of essays, technical narratives, executive comms, and launches at the speed the company ships.

  • Set the standard for how Fluidstack writes, and hold every public-facing piece to it.

  • Partner with founders, engineers, and marketing to pull the real story out of the people doing the work and onto the page.

What We're Looking For

  • The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.

  • You've owned the editorial voice of a company or publication and shaped how a technical audience understood it.

  • You've written or edited work that credible, skeptical readers respected, not marketing copy they scrolled past.

  • You can sit with an engineer or a founder and pull a sharp story out of dense technical work.

  • You've built an editorial process that shipped consistently without flattening the writing into corporate sludge.

  • You edit hard and raise the bar of everyone who writes around you.

  • You've published on the timeline the news demanded, not the timeline a review cycle wanted.

  • Bonus: Technical, infrastructure, energy, or deep-tech subject matter. Building an editorial function from scratch. A portfolio of published long-form work. Briefing and ghostwriting for executives.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
