Who this fits

You’ll fit a hands-on, metrics-focused operator role that combines SEO, content, technical execution, and applied AI. You’ll work remotely from the United States, report to the Group Product Manager for Growth, and collaborate with growth, brand, and marketing teams.

From the employer

Flodesk is recognized in the Inc 5000 as one of the world's fastest-growing email marketing companies, built to help entrepreneurs sell online and design emails that people love to get. We're committed to giving small businesses simple and intuitive tools that help them grow, nurture, and monetize their email list.

We’re a remote-first company headquartered in San Francisco with a globally distributed team, including in-person hubs in Da Nang (Vietnam), Barcelona (Spain), and Menlo Park (California). Our team reflects the diversity and creativity of the people we serve. Join our mission to level the playing field for small business owners through good design.

About the role

Search behavior is shifting fast. A growing share of our customers discover Flodesk through ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. We're hiring a Growth Operator to own how Flodesk shows up in those answers and turn AI search into a durable acquisition channel.

You'll lead AI search optimization across Flodesk's content portfolio. The role sits at the intersection of SEO, content strategy, and applied AI: pruning what no longer serves us, rebuilding what does, and making sure LLMs cite us accurately when prospects ask about email marketing, automations, and selling online.

This is a hands-on operator role reporting to the Group Product Manager, Growth. You'll run audits, ship changes through our CMS stack with AI-assisted tooling, draft and edit content to a publishable standard, and report on Search and AI visibility. You'll work closely with growth, brand and marketing to inform the content strategy and ensure Flodesk’s voice and positioning are captured.

What you'll do:

  • Content portfolio management. Own Flodesk's web content inventory across flodesk.com, /blog, and /tips. Continuously assess performance, prune what isn't working, consolidate thin content into stronger pieces, and keep an auditable record of decisions.
  • AI content structuring. Evolve how Flodesk content is structured for AI discoverability. Set and refine templates and patterns (AI summaries, citation-ready formatting, schema), measure and iterate based on what's actually getting cited.
  • Content production. Write content that's worth reading: deep, accurate, useful. Partner closely with the brand team and leverage our internal artifacts (brand voice, competitive analysis, personas) to stay on voice.
  • Technical execution. Ship changes on our sites and maintain technical SEO hygiene (structured data, canonicals, site speed, crawlability).
  • Measurement and experimentation. Track AI search visibility (share of voice, citations, sentiment across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) alongside traditional SEO metrics. Run a steady stream of small, structured tests, measure deltas against a baseline, and report biweekly on what's working, what's not, and what you're testing next.
  • Multi-platform distribution. Expand beyond flodesk.com into Reddit, Youtube and other content platforms as the on-site foundation matures.

What you bring:

  • 3 to 5 years in SEO, content marketing, or growth, with experience working on AEO / GEO / AI search optimization.
  • A track record of moving growth metrics: organic traffic, AI citations, qualified sign-ups. You can point to specific work and explain what you did, how you did it and why.
  • Strong technical SEO foundation: structured data, internal linking, redirects, crawl health, Search Console.
  • Hands-on comfort in Webflow or other CMS platforms. You can ship content changes end-to-end, autonomously.
  • Exceptional AI prompting skills. Given our brand guidelines, you can produce drafts that are accurate, on brand, and worth a reader's time.
  • Data fluency. Comfortable in GA, Search Console, and AI visibility tools. Comfortable pulling and manipulating your own data in spreadsheets or SQL.
  • An operator's mindset. You live in the metrics, build automations and systems instead of doing the same manual task repeatedly. You run rigorous tests and communicate the results confidently to senior stakeholders.

Extra points if you have:

  • Passion building for creators and small businesses.
  • Experience with Ahrefs, Semrush, Profound or comparable tools.
  • Coding or vibe-coding experience (e.g. in Claude Code).
  • Experience with Git and GitHub / GitLab for collaborating on code.

What we bring:

  • $120,000 - $140,000 USD base salary; Within this range, an individual's base pay will be dependent on a variety of factors, including without limitation, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience
  • Fully paid health insurance
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave
  • Unlimited flexible time off
  • 401k match (US employees only)
