We're looking for a Global Account Director to manage and grow a portfolio of established and developing agency accounts, identify new business opportunities, and increase client preference for IHG's globally recognised portfolio of hotel brands.
This is a newly created role within our Global Meetings and Incentives team. You’ll combine strategic account management with proactive new business development, building trusted relationships and connecting clients with exceptional hotels and destinations across the IHG estate.
Your day to day
• Own and strategically develop a portfolio of UK meetings and incentive agency accounts.
• Assess account potential, create focused plans, and prioritise activity to maximise revenue and market share.
• Grow established accounts while identifying, prospecting, and converting new opportunities.
• Build trusted relationships with agencies, clients, hotels, and internal stakeholders.
• Use market insight, data, and commercial curiosity to uncover whitespace and challenge assumptions.
• Coordinate international opportunities across regions and with secondary sellers to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Represent IHG confidently at client meetings, hotel site visits, and industry trade shows.
• Maintain an active pipeline and provide clear reporting on account progress, opportunities, and results.
What we need from you
• Demonstrable experience within the MICE, meetings, groups, or incentive sales market.
• Existing relationships within the UK meetings, incentives, conferences and events sector, including agency and corporate buyer networks, would be highly advantageous.
• Deliver against agreed revenue, room night and account production targets while driving market share growth across the IHG portfolio.
• Develop and execute multi-year account strategies aligned with client needs and IHG commercial objectives.
• A strong understanding of agency relationships, international booking flows, and the MICE sales cycle.
• Hospitality or hotel-sector experience is strongly preferred.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior agency leaders and key client stakeholders to strengthen IHG's position within strategic accounts.
• Proven success growing accounts, developing relationships, and identifying new revenue opportunities.
• Experience managing multiple accounts and prioritising activity according to commercial potential.
• Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• An inquisitive, proactive approach with the confidence to ask strong questions and explore opportunities in greater depth.
• Ability to work independently in a remote role and collaborate effectively across a global organisation.
• Flexibility to travel regularly for client meetings, site visits, and trade shows, with practical access to London.
