From the employer
The Security Communications team is part of Navy Federal's Security organization and serves as the strategic communications function for the Information Security, Security Governance & Risk, and Fraud & Global Security divisions. We develop and deliver communications, awareness campaigns, executive messaging, videos, events, and employee engagement initiatives that help employees understand security risks, adopt secure behaviors, and stay informed about key security priorities. We partner closely with security subject matter experts, business units across the enterprise, Marketing, Human Resources, and executive leaders to translate complex security topics into clear, engaging, and actionable communications that strengthen security awareness and support business objectives.
The Summer Associate will work directly with the Security Communications team and gain hands-on experience in strategic communications, storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and security awareness. The associate will lead a 6-8 week pilot program designed to increase visibility and engagement across the Security organization by spotlighting one or two teams within Information Security.
Deliverables may include eNewsletter articles, short-form videos, graphics, and other employee-facing content that highlight each team's mission, priorities, and impact on the organization. The project will culminate in a presentation to Security leadership summarizing outcomes, engagement metrics, lessons learned, and recommendations.
This project may evolve based on shifting organizational priorities; however, the Summer Associate’s experience will remain aligned to similar strategic communications responsibilities. Regardless of the final project scope, the associate will gain meaningful exposure to planning, stakeholder engagement, content development, and measurement.
