Role brief

growthroles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Build account plans for roughly 246 institutions, concentrating intensive effort on the top 40 strategic accounts
  • Study credit strategies, technology setups, incumbents, leadership, initiatives and buying signals at named accounts
  • Chart executives and influencers, then find access through outreach, connections, partners, advisors and executive programs
  • Use tailored outreach to win substantive executive discussions and pass Sales decision-ready opportunity handoffs
  • Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Channels, Partnerships, Solution Consulting and leadership to deepen account coverage

What you bring

  • Significant enterprise business development or strategic account development experience in relevant technology or financial-services fields
  • A record of reaching senior executives inside complex financial-services organizations
  • Strong knowledge of how banks, credit unions and fintechs assess major platform or technology changes
  • Skill researching accounts, mapping buying groups and turning commercial triggers into qualified opportunities
  • Comfort with CRM, relationship-intelligence, contact-data, market-research and AI tools

Who this fits

This suits a senior individual contributor who can work independently through long, complex enterprise buying cycles. You should be comfortable engaging banking and technology executives with persistent, highly tailored communication. The role is remote in the United States and involves approximately fifteen to twenty-five percent travel for meetings, events and account activity. Experience with card issuing, issuer processing, revolving credit, migrations or portfolio conversions is strongly preferred.

From the employer

CoreCard is seeking a Senior Director of Strategic Account Development to help us gain earlier, more meaningful access to banks, credit unions, fintechs and specialized lenders modernizing their credit and payments platforms.

CoreCard provides an enterprise platform supporting sophisticated revolving, commercial, co-brand, embedded and specialized credit products. Backed by Euronet Worldwide, we combine modern credit technology with the financial strength, implementation capabilities and global payments expertise required for complex transformation.

This is a senior individual-contributor role combining strategic account intelligence, executive relationship mapping and highly targeted business development. You will focus on a defined group of priority institutions—developing the insight, timing and access paths needed to open qualified executive conversations before formal buying processes begin.

This is not a high-volume sales development role. Success requires depth: understanding why an institution may change, who influences the decision, when the opportunity is credible and how CoreCard can earn a place in the conversation.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop actionable account plans for approximately 246 target institutions, with intensive focus on the top 40 strategic accounts.
  • Research each organization’s credit strategy, technology environment, incumbent processor, leadership structure, initiatives and potential buying triggers.
  • Map key executives and influencers across credit, lending, payments, product, technology, operations and transformation.
  • Identify multiple credible access paths through direct outreach, mutual connections, industry relationships, partners, advisors and executive programs.
  • Monitor platform migrations, contract events, leadership changes, acquisitions, new credit programs and other signals of potential transformation.
  • Translate market intelligence into a clear commercial hypothesis, recommended outreach strategy and next action.
  • Conduct highly personalized outreach grounded in each institution’s priorities, risks and transformation objectives.
  • Secure and qualify substantive executive conversations—not simply introductory meetings.
  • Provide Sales with complete, decision-ready handoffs covering the opportunity, stakeholders, trigger, incumbent environment, access path and recommended next step.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Channels and Partnerships, Solution Consulting and executive leadership to improve account penetration.
  • Use CRM, relationship-intelligence tools and AI-assisted research to create a disciplined and repeatable U.S. account-access engine.
  • Maintain high standards for research accuracy, confidentiality, privacy and professional outreach.
  • Travel is approximately 15%–25%, based on executive meetings, industry events and target-account activity.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in enterprise business development, strategic account development, financial technology, payments, card processing, banking technology, lending technology or enterprise software.
  • Demonstrated success securing access to senior executives within complex financial-services organizations.
  • Strong understanding of how banks, credit unions and fintechs evaluate major technology or platform-transformation decisions.
  • Experience researching named accounts, mapping buying committees and identifying credible commercial triggers.
  • Ability to turn market intelligence and relationships into qualified meetings and opportunities.
  • Executive-level communication skills and the judgment to engage senior banking and technology leaders credibly.
  • Persistent, thoughtful and highly personalized approach to long enterprise buying cycles.
  • Strong CRM discipline and comfort using relationship-intelligence, contact-data, market-research and AI tools.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively across Sales, Marketing, Product and executive leadership.
  • Experience with card issuing, issuer processing, revolving credit, platform migrations or portfolio conversions is strongly preferred.
