Role brief

growthroles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Find and close new accounts among telecom operators, digital service providers and adjacent markets across EMEA
  • Set territory plans around target accounts, whitespace, buying triggers and long-term market entry
  • Earn access to senior business, technology, operations and procurement decision-makers
  • Guide complex enterprise purchases through buying groups and procurement, from first conversation to signed deal
  • Shape RFI and RFP responses into business cases, coordinating with marketing, product, pre-sales and delivery

What you bring

  • Five to ten years selling enterprise software, including work with telecom operators, digital service providers or adjacent markets
  • A record of winning new customers and closing multi-million enterprise contracts
  • Working familiarity with BSS/OSS, telecom purchasing practices and competitive conditions
  • A structured sales approach such as MEDDPICC, plus experience building opportunities without an inherited pipeline

Who this fits

This suits a senior enterprise seller who prefers winning new customers over managing an existing account base and can build a pipeline from the ground up. The role covers EMEA and focuses on telecom and media customers.

From the employer

Business Development Director, Telecom & Media

Who Are We

Hansen builds the software that keeps telecom operators winning. Our digital transformation platforms sit at the heart of how telecom operators launch new products, monetise 5G, IoT and more, and modernise legacy commercial stacks with the latest technologies. From BSS/OSS, CPQ, revenue management to the implementations of AI agents, we provide CSPs with the latest development in modern technology to support their growth. In Communications & Media specifically, we're scaling fast, and we're building out the team to match.

Why This Role Matters

Create the market. Open the door. Win the customer.

We're hiring a Regional Sales Director to own new-logo growth across the EMEA telecom and media sector. This is a hunter role: you'll build pipeline from zero, get in front of C-suite buyers at operators and digital service providers, and close multi-million-pound enterprise deals — not manage an existing book.

You'll have real autonomy over your territory and a direct line to shaping Hansen's go-to-market in one of its highest-growth verticals.

What You’ll Do

    • Win new customers: Identify, qualify and close new-logo opportunities with telecom operators, digital service providers, and adjacent markets across EMEA.

    • Build and run your territory: Develop account and whitespace plans targeting telecom operators and CSPs, trigger events, and long-term market penetration.

    • Sell at the top: Build credibility and access with C-suite and senior stakeholders across business, technology, operations, and procurement.

    • Run complex, multi-stakeholder deals: Navigate enterprise buying groups and procurement processes from first contact through signature of multi-million deals.

    • Lead strategic RFI/RFP pursuits: Translate Hansen's solutions and customer engagement capability into outcome-led business cases.

    • Drive market momentum: Partner with marketing, product, pre-sales and delivery to build demand, sharpen win themes, and raise Hansen's profile in the telecom ecosystem.

What You Bring

  • 5–10 years of enterprise software sales experience, with a track record selling into telecom operators, digital service providers, or adjacent markets — ideally from a telecom software vendor background.

  • A demonstrable track record of closing new-logo, multi-million-[£/€/$] enterprise deals, not just managing existing accounts.

  • Working knowledge of the BSS/OSS landscape, telecom buying processes, and competitive dynamics.

  • A disciplined sales methodology (MEDDPICC or equivalent) and genuine comfort creating opportunities from scratch rather than working an inherited pipeline.

  • Existing executive-level relationships across telecom operators or digital service providers are a strong plus.

  • Native or fluent English; additional European languages are an advantage.

Why Join Hansen?

This is a high-impact commercial role with direct visibility across Hansen’s Communications & Media growth strategy. You will have the autonomy to build strategic customer relationships, the backing of a proven telecom software portfolio, and the opportunity to shape meaningful transformation programmes across some of the region’s most important communications providers.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We are proud to be an equal opportunities employer. Hansen prides itself on celebrating diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees, extending this to how we work with our customers, partners and suppliers. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of age, disability, gender identity or expression, marital status, race, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. If you require any adjustments or accommodations during the recruitment process, please let us know.
