growthroles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Work with Sales to shape joined-up infrastructure proposals for enterprise, colocation and hyperscale data centre customers
  • Turn customer IT and infrastructure needs into workable system designs spanning power, cooling, racks and IT
  • Join customer discussions early to influence architecture, then support bids, presentations and solution workshops
  • Coordinate with engineering and product teams to check designs, and adapt standard approaches when customer needs call for it
  • Help customers plan for AI and HPC workloads, GPU systems and rising rack power demands

What you bring

  • You understand data centre or other mission-critical infrastructure as an integrated system, rather than as isolated products
  • Your background includes technical sales, presales, solution engineering or a related role in data centre or critical infrastructure
  • You can explain complex technical needs in terms that work for both technical and commercial customer contacts

Who this fits

This role suits a senior technical seller or solutions engineer who can connect infrastructure disciplines and work directly with customers, Sales and technical teams. The listed location is London, United Kingdom.

From the employer

Integrated Power, Cooling & IT Infrastructure

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Center Solutions Engineer to work alongside our Sales teams and customers in developing complete, integrated data centre infrastructure solutions.

This is not a role focused on one individual product or technology. You will take a system-level approach, bringing together critical power, cooling, rack and IT infrastructure to create end-to-end solutions based on the customer’s technical and operational requirements.

You will engage with customers early in the sales and design cycle, helping to shape the technical solution and supporting increasingly complex environments including high-density computing, AI infrastructure, GPU-based systems and advanced cooling technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Sales teams to develop and position integrated data centre solutions for enterprise, colocation and hyperscale customers.
  • Act as a technical advisor to customers, understanding their IT and infrastructure requirements and translating these into practical solution architectures.
  • Develop solutions incorporating multiple technologies including critical power, cooling, racks, containment and IT infrastructure.
  • Support technical proposals, tenders, customer presentations and solution workshops.
  • Engage early in the sales cycle to help influence solution architecture and technical positioning.
  • Work closely with engineering, product management and application engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound and aligned with customer requirements.
  • Support the development of customised solutions where standard architectures or products do not fully meet the customer's needs.
  • Help customers address the infrastructure requirements associated with AI, high-performance computing and increasing rack power densities.
What We're Looking For

You will have a strong technical understanding of data centre or mission-critical infrastructure, combined with the ability to look beyond individual products and understand how multiple technologies work together as a complete system.

Ideally, your experience will come from technical sales, presales, solution engineering, solution architecture or application engineering within the data centre or critical infrastructure market.

You should be comfortable discussing solutions with both technical and commercial stakeholders and be able to translate complex technical requirements into clear customer value.

Technical Experience

Experience across several of the following areas would be particularly relevant:

  • Data centre solution architecture and infrastructure design
  • Critical power systems including UPS, power distribution, switchgear, PDU and busway
  • Thermal management and data centre cooling
  • Air and liquid cooling technologies
  • Racks, containment and physical IT infrastructure
  • Server, compute, storage and networking fundamentals
  • High-density data centre environments
  • GPU-based infrastructure and high-performance computing (HPC)
  • AI infrastructure and its impact on power and cooling requirements
  • Enterprise, colocation and hyperscale data centre environments
  • Data centre white space / IT hall architecture
  • Integration of power, cooling and IT infrastructure into complete end-to-end solutions
What Will Make You Successful

You don't necessarily need to be a specialist in every technology area. What is important is the ability to understand the complete data centre environment, connect different technologies together and develop solutions around what the customer is ultimately trying to achieve.

You will combine strong technical credibility with a commercial mindset and be comfortable working directly with customers, Sales teams and technical specialists to turn complex requirements into practical, competitive solutions.
