Who this fits

This senior, largely self-directed role suits a writer who can switch between campaign pitches and fast-turnaround sports content while maintaining craft. It is based in New York and follows a hybrid arrangement.

From the employer

DAZN is looking for a Senior Copywriter to lead voice and messaging across our NHL, MLB, and NBA campaign work. You'll write everything from big-swing brand campaigns and broadcast scripts to sharp, scroll-stopping social copy and sponsorship activations — setting the tone that motion, design, and edit teams build around.

This is a senior, largely self-directed role. You'll partner directly with Creative Director in market, as well as the global creative leadership within DAZN. The ideal candidate will be someone who protects the craft of the work under fast, game-driven deadlines. You should be as comfortable pitching a campaign platform in a room as you are punching up a caption ten minutes before puck drop.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

  • Lead copywriting across NHL, MLB, and NBA campaigns, spanning brand platforms, broadcast/video scripts, social copy, out-of-home, and sponsorship activations
  • Develop campaign concepts and messaging platforms in partnership with Creative and design teams
  • Adapt tone and voice fluently across three distinct league identities — NHL, MLB, and NBA — as well as individual team and sponsor brand voices
  • Present concepts and copy directly to internal DAZN leadership and client/league stakeholders, articulating creative rationale with confidence
  • Partner closely with Motion Design, Video Editing, and Art Direction to ensure copy and visual language land as one unified idea
  • Ensure all copy complies with DAZN brand guidelines TOV, league, team, and player-likeness usage guidelines and legal/brand approval processes
  • Contribute to new-business and pitch decks, including big-idea campaign territories and tone-setting sample copy
  • 5–8+ years — of professional copywriting experience, with a portfolio strong in sports or culturally-driven brand work
  • Demonstrated experience writing for major sports leagues, teams, or sports-adjacent brands (NHL, MLB, NBA, or similar strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to develop campaign ideas and messaging platforms, not just execute against a brief
  • Exceptional range across formats: long-form brand storytelling, broadcast scripts, and fast, punchy social copy

  • Strong presentation skills and comfort defending creative work to Creative Directors and clients
  • Experience mentoring or providing creative direction to junior writers
  • Ability to work at speed on real-time, sports-calendar-driven content without sacrificing craft
  • Meticulous attention to detail, brand guidelines, and approval/compliance processes
