What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Business Development Manager within our Cross-border division and is located in Birkirkara, Malta. The role will focus on developing new business across the Maltese market, engaging with business owners and C-level executives to understand their international payment strategies and identify opportunities to optimise their cross-border requirements. You will take ownership of the full prospecting and business development cycle, building relationships with senior stakeholders, identifying commercial opportunities and creating a strong pipeline of prospective clients. As a key member of the sales team, you will act as a trusted advisor to prospects, positioning Corpay’s solutions around their specific business needs and contributing directly to revenue growth. You will report to our Sales Director and collaborate closely with internal sales and commercial teams to drive new opportunities through to conversion.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Business Travel: Willingness and availability to travel locally and internationally, attend industry conferences, networking events, and business meetings, and represent Corpay professionally alongside the wider team as required.

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Managing the full pipeline by owning advanced lead qualification, opportunity progression, and CRM discipline.
  • Executing complex field‑sales cycles, conducting deep discovery, solution positioning, and commercial negotiations.
  • Building strong relationships with senior decision‑makers across assigned territories to accelerate deal momentum.
  • Presenting tailored product solutions with confidence to technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
  • Coordinating with marketing, product, operations, and leadership to support deal strategy and customer expectations.
  • Analyzing market trends, competitive dynamics, and buyer behavior to refine pursuit tactics and territory strategy.
  • Preparing pricing proposals, business cases, and customized sales materials that support high‑quality deal closure.
  • Meeting or exceeding territory revenue, acquisition, and growth targets through strategic field execution.

Qualifications & Skills

  • FX & Hedging Expertise: Strong understanding of FX markets, currency exposure, and FX hedging solutions, with the ability to engage credibly with businesses on their foreign exchange risk management requirements and position appropriate solutions.
  • Established Industry Network: A well-developed network of contacts and relationships across a diverse range of industries and sectors, particularly with senior finance, treasury, procurement, and business decision-makers, with the ability to leverage these relationships to generate new business opportunities.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is €61,200 – €76,500 gross per year. The final offer will be determined based on objective, gender-neutral criteria including relevant skills, professional experience, and qualifications. Corpay maintains structured compensation practices and regularly reviews pay to support compliance with equal pay principles and applicable EU legislation. Additional compensation elements, including benefits and variable pay (if applicable), will be discussed during the recruitment process.
