What you'll do

  • Create a merchant pipeline across Norwegian hospitality, retail and food service, then turn prospects into customers
  • Reach operations, finance and technology decision-makers and guide multi-person buying groups through the sale
  • Run deals from initial contact through proposals and launch on Planet’s gateway, acquiring and DCC platform
  • Coordinate with referral partners, product and operations so sold solutions are implemented effectively
  • Represent Planet at industry events and trade groups to raise its profile in Norwegian hospitality and retail payments

What you bring

  • You have sold complex B2B solutions in hospitality, retail, food service, payments or a related area
  • You understand merchant acquiring and how teams scope gateway integrations
  • You can tailor commercial discussions for finance, IT and operations decision-makers
  • You know how purchasing decisions and relationship-building work in Norway, and speak Norwegian and English fluently

Who this fits

This suits a self-directed seller who wants to build a territory from scratch, own the full sales cycle and stay resilient through longer deals. You’ll work across teams and need to be comfortable representing the role at industry events. The role is hybrid, with three office days each week in Oslo.

From the employer

About Us:

Planet is a leading technology company transforming payments by putting customer experience first.

We offer integrated solutions that include payment processing, VAT refunds, dynamic currency conversion, and management services for merchants in the Retail and Hospitality sectors worldwide.

In recent years, we have experienced significant growth, expanding our services and global presence.

With strong private equity investors, Advent International and Eurazeo, we have the financial capital and expertise to grow our capabilities and reach through acquisitions.

Our mission is to create a world of connected commerce where payments are simple, secure, and seamless, enabling our partners to deliver exceptional experiences to their customers.

Role Overview

Planet is a global payments company built for merchants where reliability and scale really matter. Hotels, premium retail, restaurants. We combine payments gateway, merchant acquiring and currency solutions into one connected stack, and we operate in over 120 markets.

Unlike many of our competitors, we own the full payments relationship. That means merchants get one commercial conversation, one integration, one partner. In Norway, that proposition is largely untapped and we're moving to change that.

We're hiring a hunter to build Planet's presence in Norway from the ground up across hospitality, retail and F&B. The territory is open and the opportunity is real.

What You Will Do

  • Sell Planet products, you will build your pipeline from scratch. You'll identify the right merchants, get in front of Operations Directors, Finance leads and Group Technology contacts, and bring them onto Planet's gateway, acquiring and DCC platform.
  • You'll own the full sales cycle. That means multi-stakeholder engagements, commercial proposals, and seeing deals through from first conversation to live on platform. You'll work closely with our referal partner network, Product and Operations teams to make sure what you sell lands properly.
  • You'll also be visible. Industry events, trade bodies, the right rooms across Norway and the wider region. Building Planet's profile in Norwegian hospitality and retail payments is part of this role, not an afterthought.

Who You Are

  • You've sold complex B2B solutions before, in hospitality, retail, F&B or somewhere close to payments. You understand how merchant acquiring works, how gateway integrations actually get scoped, and what a senior stakeholder at a hotel group or retail chain genuinely cares about commercially.
  • You can navigate a buying group. You know that the FD, the IT Director and the Operations lead all need a different conversation, and you're comfortable leading all three.
  • You know the Norwegian market. You understand how buying decisions get made here, who the right people are, and how trust gets built. You're fluent in Norwegian and English.
  • As a self-starter, you build momentum yourself, you forecast honestly, and you take ownership of your number like it's your own business.
  • Experience with DCC or EPOS environments is useful. An existing network in Norwegian hospitality or premium retail is a real advantage. Neither is a dealbreaker if everything else is there.

In Addition, You'll Be

Energised by building something from the ground up rather than managing what already exists. Resilient when deals take longer than expected. Collaborative enough to get the best out of the teams around you. And genuinely curious about the technology you're selling, because the merchants you'll be talking to will expect you to know it.
