Who this fits

This role suits a new-business hunter who wants full ownership of prospecting, deal progression, and customer acquisition rather than managing existing accounts. You’ll work remotely from Melbourne or the wider region, with flexible hybrid or remote options also open to Sydney-based applicants. The position is focused on individual sales execution and includes uncapped performance earnings.

From the employer

At Commify, we're not just a company - we're a globally connected team of innovators who love what we do. As a CPaaS leader with 25 years of groundbreaking experience, we're the force behind over 5 billion customer interactions each year, enabling businesses worldwide to connect via advanced channels like SMS, RCS, and complex mobile journeys.

Our culture is our core strength. Operating across the UK, EMEA, the USA, and Australia, we've fostered a truly diverse and connected environment, earning a consistent 4 out of 5 culture score in our employee engagement surveys. You'll join a vibrant team where your diverse experience makes a daily global impact.

We need talented people to grow a global company where everyone feels proud to belong, have a purpose and do their best to directly shape the digital future.

We are seeking a sharp, high-performing Business Development Manager to accelerate our growth across Melbourne and the wider region. In this pure "hunter" position, you will be responsible for identifying target accounts, building a robust pipeline from scratch, and closing high-value deals.

  • You won’t be managing legacy accounts; your focus will be entirely on new customer acquisition and driving revenue growth.
  • Proactively identify, qualify, and secure new enterprise and mid-market business opportunities.
  • Map out target key decision-makers and execute strategic cold outreach, networking, and prospecting campaigns.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles—from initial contact and tailored pitch presentations through to negotiation and contract execution.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our product suite to position high-value solutions to prospective clients.
  • Exceed monthly and quarterly gross profit and revenue targets.

Requirements

What We Are Looking For:

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Develop and implement effective strategies for lead generation, including cold outreach, networking, and leveraging existing contacts.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing deals, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Proposal Development: Create compelling and tailored proposals, presentations, and sales materials that clearly articulate the value proposition of our products/services.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline status, and client interactions using CRM software, and provide regular reports to management.
  • New Business Development: Proven success closing new business in enterprise or mid-market B2B sales.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Experience selling across varied stakeholder levels, from operational contacts through to senior decision-makers.
  • Work Authorization: Eligible to work in Australia.
  • Experience: 5+ years of business development or sales experience preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in CPaaS preferred.

Core Competencies

  • AI Literacy & Tool Fluency: Ability to navigate, evaluate, and adopt domain-specific AI tools (e.g. generative text/image tools, enterprise copilots, automated analytics) to streamline daily work.
  • Workflows & Prompting: Skill in structuring clear inputs and contexts to extract accurate, high-value outputs from AI platforms, converting machine results into actionable business deliverables.
  • Output Validation & Quality Control: Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, hallucination, bias, relevance, and alignment with organisational standards before final execution.

Required Behaviours & Mindset

  • Adaptive Curiosity: Actively seeks opportunities to learn new workplace approved tech, experimenting with AI capabilities to solve everyday operational friction.
  • Data Responsibility & Ethical Awareness: Adheres strictly to company data privacy standards, AI Policy guardrails, ensuring sensitive customer, financial, or IP data is never entered into unvetted tools.
  • Automation-First Thinking: Regularly identifies repetitive, low-value tasks within their workflow that can be automated or accelerated, redirecting time towards strategic execution.

Benefits

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of $95,000-105,000 AUD per year plus Super.
  • Additional $33,000 On-Target-Earnings over performance is uncapped and we pay 22.4% of recognised GP each month
