Who this fits
This suits a creative, organized collaborator who can handle graphics, video, copy, social channels, and event support. It is a part-time hybrid role in Vancouver running October 2026 through March 2027, with four to six hours weekly in the first semester and eight to ten before Commerce Night. You’ll need to attend Commerce Night GMs and department meetings, respond on Slack within 24 hours, and take part in boothing activities

Main Responsibilities

Assist Commerce Night’s VP Marketing with the following:

Design digital and print graphics for Commerce Night initiatives, including social media posts and stories, promotional materials, and event signage

Create and edit short-form video content, including Instagram Reels and other promotional videos

Write and edit social media captions and promotional copy for award nominations, ticket sales, hiring, and gala-related content

Develop and execute all marketing campaigns (contests, giveaways, etc.) for Commerce Night

Ensure transparent communication of information regarding award nominations, ticket sales, and gala details

Grow and manage Commerce Night’s social media platforms

Associates are also expected to:

Attend all Commerce Night GMs and department meetings

Respond to all Slack communications within 24 hours

Take ownership of assigned tasks and meet set internal deadlines

Provide ideas and support for the overall vision and planning of the Commerce Night gala

Assist with the overall planning and execution of the Group & Individual Awards Information Session and the Awards Night Gala alongside the team

Participate in Commerce Night boothing activities to promote awards

Qualifications

Foundational understanding of effective marketing strategies and brand storytelling

Good collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal

Good time management skills – able to juggle multiple deliverables and deadlines simultaneously

Detail-oriented with an eye for visual quality and brand consistency

Intrinsically motivated, with initiative and creative thinking

Awareness of current social media trends on Instagram/LinkedIn is an asset

Experience with design software (e.g. Figma, Canva, Adobe Suite) is an asset

Experience with video editing software (e.g. Capcut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve) is an asset

Experience with photography, videography, and/or copywriting is an asset
Anticipated Learning Outcomes

Take ownership of marketing campaigns for a large-scale event with 400+ attendees

Build a cohesive portfolio of graphics and short- and long-form video that demonstrates your design and visual-storytelling skills
