Who this fits

This director-level builder-leader role suits someone who can set growth direction while staying hands-on across acquisition, experimentation and measurement. You’ll manage a lean team of employees and specialist contractors. You must be based on the East Coast.

At Cloudinary, we celebrate Life & Work. We believe in healthy growth, working with purpose, and creating meaningful value. If you’re looking for a place where your voice matters and your work truly makes an impact, this may be the opportunity for you.

Cloudinary is looking for a Director of Growth Marketing, a commercially rigorous, technically fluent growth leader to run our integrated Growth Marketing engine across self-service and enterprise motions.

As the business owner of growth, you will create demand, improve conversion, build owned acquisition surfaces, and translate growth investment into revenue and pipeline outcomes. Working closely with Product, Data, RevOps, Sales, Web, Content, Design and Finance, you will set the growth system, make trade-offs, and create the operating cadence that lets a lean team ship quickly and compound what works.

This is a builder-leader role, not a channel-management role, suited to someone who combines strategic range with personal fluency in performance marketing, SEO, AI discovery, content-led acquisition, conversion optimization, lifecycle and analytics.

Responsibilities:

    • Own Growth Marketing strategy and execution across the self-service PLG funnel, from acquisition through qualified pipeline and new paying accounts.

    • Set the growth portfolio: allocate budget, talent and experimentation capacity across paid acquisition, SEO, GEO/AEO/AI discovery, tools and content, CRO, and lifecycle campaigns.

    • Build and scale owned acquisition assets, including programmatic and product-led content, free tools, guides, glossaries, landing pages and emerging agent-friendly discovery surfaces.

    • Lead an evidence-led experimentation program: frame hypotheses, establish success criteria, prioritize tests, make rapid stop/scale decisions, and convert learnings into repeatable playbooks.

    • Own performance visibility and measurement. Partner with Data, RevOps, Product and Sales to maintain trusted funnel definitions, diagnose data discrepancies, establish attribution guardrails, and model maturity from lead to pipeline and revenue.

    • Be the business owner for Growth Marketing ROI: create CFO-ready investment cases, distinguish attributed revenue from influenced value and leading indicators, and make capital-allocation recommendations.

    • Manage and develop a lean, high-output team of employees and specialist contractors; design pod structure, hiring plans, operating processes, quality controls and AI-enabled ways of working.

    • Align senior stakeholders across Product, Web, Content, Design, Sales, RevOps, Finance and leadership, translating growth insights into clear asks, durable ownership and shipped work.

    • Represent Growth Marketing in weekly leadership reviews and executive forums, communicating results, risks, decisions required and next-week priorities with clarity.

About You:

    • MUST BE EAST COAST
    • 10+ years in B2B SaaS growth, demand generation, PLG or performance marketing, combining strategic leadership with a hands-on approach to driving growth specifically among developer audiences.

    • A target-driven persona with a deep technical understanding of developers, combined with a rigorous grasp of both human developer and AI agent audiences.

    • A track record of owning integrated growth across paid, organic, lifecycle, CRO and content/product-led acquisition, with the judgement to decide where each lever belongs.

    • Strong command of SaaS funnel analytics, attribution, cohort analysis, conversion metrics, budget modelling and executive-level ROI storytelling.

    • Hands-on expertise in performance marketing and organic acquisition, plus working fluency in technical SEO, AI search/discovery, web experimentation and marketing automation.

    • Experience building high-velocity experimentation systems and operating with ambiguity, imperfect data and fast-changing product or market conditions.

    • Exceptional cross-functional leadership: able to align senior stakeholders and work credibly with Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, Sales and creative partners.

    • A practical AI-first operating mindset: uses automation and agents to accelerate research, content, analysis and operational throughput while retaining quality and commercial judgement.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in developer-facing, API, media technology, infrastructure or technically complex SaaS products.

    • Experience scaling free tools, programmatic content, marketplaces or other owned acquisition products into measurable commercial value.

    • Experience leading distributed employees, agencies and contractor teams across multiple specialist disciplines.

    • Experience in online marketing driving registration.
