  • Create the brand identity, messaging style, and visual system from the ground up
  • Set the social strategy and run communities across major consumer platforms
  • Shape PR, outside communications, and the company’s core story
  • Plan and deliver the wearable’s consumer launch with product, design, and engineering partners

What you bring

  • At least two to three years in marketing, centered on social media and community work

You’ll suit a hands-on consumer marketer who can build the function from scratch with limited resources and eventually manage a growing team. From the employer

About the Role

This is a rare founding marketing opportunity at an early-stage consumer hardware company building a first-of-its-kind wearable in the emotional intelligence space. As the first marketing hire, you'll own the entire marketing function — brand, social, community, communications, and consumer launch — with full end-to-end ownership and a direct line to the founding team.

This is a high-ownership, high-impact role suited for a scrappy, consumer-native marketer who thrives without a large team or budget and is excited to build from zero. You'll be expected to grow into leading the marketing org as the company scales.

What You'll Do

  • Own marketing end-to-end as the company's first dedicated marketing hire

  • Build and manage brand identity, voice, and visual presence from the ground up

  • Lead social media strategy and community management across key consumer platforms

  • Own external communications, PR positioning, and narrative development

  • Plan and execute go-to-market strategy for the consumer launch of the wearable device

  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and ML/engineering teams on cross-functional initiatives

  • Grow into building and leading the marketing organization as headcount expands

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 2–3+ years of marketing experience with a strong focus on social media and community management

  • Background in consumer hardware, consumer goods, or a closely related consumer field — not B2B or enterprise tech

  • Proven ability to own brand strategy, social channels, and external communications end-to-end

  • Experience with go-to-market planning and product launch execution

  • Hands-on, scrappy operator who can execute without a large team or significant budget

  • Strong consumer taste and genuine interest in the emotional intelligence / personal performance space

  • Must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the US (no employer visa sponsorship; visa transfers welcome)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in an early-stage startup environment with ownership over a marketing function

  • Familiarity working cross-functionally with product and engineering teams

  • Track record of building community around a physical consumer product

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $80,000 – $125,000 USD annually

  • Meaningful early-stage equity as a founding team member

  • Opportunity to build and lead a function from day one at a well-backed, fast-moving startup

Location

On-site in New York City, NY, USA. Candidates must be currently based in the US. No employer visa sponsorship is available; visa transfers are accepted.
